Ok I just spec’d mine on a whim….I was at Ogara picking up my Urus and my salesperson tells me the Spectre reveal was happening. I hate EV cars, but the Rolls is the only car I could imagine being ok without an exhaust note. It is replacing the Wraith. I believe it is based on the Phantom chassis. It is an extremely long body… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The back end looks kinda weird especially in that last pic. Prefer the Wraith styling personally. Interior is pretty sick though.
In person, I felt the car looked stunning, though it did look large and grand. I actually thought the interior was a bit banal, however, the starlight headliner extending to the doors is amazing, and a must option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hopefully, this too shall pass, as many other shenanigans over the years have. When I see that the new incoming S63e weighs 1k pounds more than my S65, I have to chuckle. But, hey, this is progress
Looks a little too much like a Bentley from that rear 3/4. I'm surprised they didn't push it a bit more.
Itrs the one electric car thats really an improvement. They kept the nice front end, wooden dash, buttons even round dials, things that make part of being in a rolls such a special occasion. The electric drive has the smoothness and linear power that was always the idea from a v12, silent porgress. The range is fine for a rolls, not many road tripping a rolls, there are other cars for that. The leather I'm sure is the same as sine 1930, etc. All the led lights in the interior is a bit bling, but thats an option. So much of a better way to go than tesla chic and screens which seems to be what everyone else is aping. Kinda shows how Mercedes totally missed the target. Imagine if lucid did a really great intetrior.
yeah but price aside, its nicer more desirable than pretty much any otter electric. The styling actually has some style with classic cues, and its lux, quiet and nice inside, which are things electrics can do well. Indicates that if price is not a barrier and the company knows its customers isnte a of dictating what an engineer thought would be a great screen (I mean car), these new cars can be great in the luxury segment. An electric is unlikely to make a great Gt3, the tesla i-phone on wheels look/vibe is not for everyone, and this rolls seems pretty much what always made a rolls cool and desireable. I can see it sellking great. Yeah in a few years the tech or batteries will be dated. Since electric cars dont wear out nearly a fast or degrade with little use (exept batteries with time), and as rolls dont do much mileage, Im wondering what one of these is worth in 10 years or 15. By then there may be new aftermarket batteries. its a new world, not all bad, at east if you have the $ and are into luxury cars. I think egnesis will do a similar thing down the scale. Beisdes Roll(owned by BMW) the germans are out to sea.
300 mile cruising range, which likely will end up being less in real world driving, is a hard pass for me. No way. If the technology and infrastructure gets to the point that there are charging stations littered everywhere and can get a 90% charge in 15 min then maybe, just maybe, might consider it. Short of that though, nope, no matter how good a car it is…a car needs to be able to drive and do what I want it to do that day, or weekend trip. With current charging tech and infrastructure that car would need 600+ miles cruising range for me to even go look at it. My V12 Ghost has a cruising range of ~400 miles and can be refueled in 3 min anywhere. It is virtually silent, though with a very pleasing soft growl if foot put down for a quick pass or highway merge, it drives beautifully with more than enough power, the interior is beautiful and supremely comfortable…so, how in any way is this new car an improvement? It’s not.
My understanding is Toyota has developed a new solid state battery they are putting on the market. Much greater range and a much faster charge time. Similar kind of make up as a pacemaker battery but on a larger scale. I think this technology is changing TOO FAST to invest that much money. Its too easy for it to be obsoleted.
Today's batteries will be considered more raw and visceral - hence, desirable to the future enthusiast ...?
Anyone else getting one? I’m told my delivery will be around March/April… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Interestingly, I let my wife spec it and she picked grey [emoji51] Are you getting one [emoji2]? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Funny, asked my wife if she was sure about the color and she said she didn’t care so I changed it to white [emoji51] Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Awesome spec. Absolutely love my Wraith, this is one of the few EVs I’d ever consider. If only I weren’t so poor.
