Wife's Rolex needs cleaning. I see there is a service centre in Dallas. Anyone have experience with them? T
I recommend first checking with Rolex if they perform the servicing on site in Dallas or if they send the watch off to New York (which adds to the turnaround time). They also re-lubricate the watch and polish the crystal to look like new. All my encounters have gone thru New York. It would be best to let Rolex get it to/from New York (if that be the case) as shipping/insuring a watch thru the post office yourself can be a bit onerous.
They are great. They do good work. They are expensive. They will not work on anything that has aftermarket parts.
It's all original. In 20+ years of Rolex ownership, this is first time we've had to worry about it. Seems to be running slow. Maybe needs a good cleaning? Do you make an appointment or just show up? T
I've been using the Rolex service center here in Dallas for years...even before I moved here almost ten years ago. They're not cheap but I wouldn't use anyone else. They do good work and the watch is always done when they say it will be done. Since I'm in their system and use them for service, they recently supplied me with an appraisal for insurance purposes free of charge. Now don't quote me on this but I believe that since my watch is in the system, it might also be easier to recover should it ever be stolen and somehow end up back in a Rolex service center...not sure but I recall being told that on one of my visits. Just show up during business hours and they'll take it in and give you a quote right away.
Had time to drop the wife's Rolex off this AM. The service center is on the sixth floor of the Rolex building. Looks like a first class operation, as you'd expect from Rolex. Watch should be due back in 4 - 5 weeks. Even supplied her with a loaner. The price quoted was pretty reasonable given the value of the watch. Fingers crossed everything remains smooth and her watch is back and as good as new shortly. Thanks for the advice everyone! T
a loaner? all these years and I've never gotten one of those at the rolex service center...noted for my next visit! but I'd say this about their quotes: not once has the repair cost exceeded the originally quoted price...of course it never comes in cheaper either but hey, they do the best work so you get what you pay for. Tom, did the lady there ask what the story was with your watch? she tells me every rolex has an interesting story behind it and she enjoys hearing them from customers. mine certainly has an interesting story...

It was a Rolex Tudor my wife said. She also said it wasn't as fancy as hers (what a princess my gal from San Antone has become!) , which didn't surprise me. My wife's Rolex is her normal daily watch, but she told the lady at the Service Center that she fell naked without a watch. At which point, we were offered a loaner, and gratefully accepted! T
I'm sorry, I missed this, or I'd have asked. My guess would be no, however, as the woman at the Service Center indicated parts for older watches were often hard to come by (my wife's is about 15 years old). But, I'd definitely stop by and ask. It was a very classy, old school service experience...T
She did! Her name was Sanja. And, she asked my wife about it. My wife's "story" is that it was a gift from her mom (her hubby is too cheap for that level of bling!). My wife gave her original Rolex to her Mom to get it fixed. My mother-in-law decided it would be better to trade that watch in for a fancier Rolex. Woman shopping logic?!? As I alluded to above thing was an old school, hands on service experience...T
