Is next weekend at Daytona. I'm really looking forward to my first up close look at the new machinery. Anyone else going?
Me too! But I WILL be going to the 24 at the end of the month; as it has a tradition for the last 10 years!. And this year is the 55th anniversary.

I'll be there for sure!! At the wheel of the Ferrari 488 number 51. This is my last race, so it's an important one!! The slogan is : 'a time to remember and say thank you'
This is as of mid December. Nothing official yet as far as I can see. Perhaps I'll wander through the paddock on Saturday taking roll call. Here?s the 2017 Rolex 24 at Daytona entry list, so far | MotorSportsTalk
Seriously, though, this Roar thing is a test. Testing is different than racing. Teams may decide to not take part at the last moment for any number of reasons. Seems as though I read about a week or two ago about some European teams planning to come over and take part in the Roar but they weren't certain about shipping, etc. From what I read, it sounds as though this Roar will be well attended. As I was!!! 'Be there at least one day (prolly Sat.). Just made a last minute solo Christmas run to L.I. (aka Le 27 Heures du FL-NY et Le 27 Heures du NY-FL ) so this I-95 thing's kinda old (as am I)...if I still had my pilots license..... I do like my "Daytona run breakfast routine" tho' (started back in '75 when you hadda turnpike it to Ft Pierce to pick up 95) of stopping at the Ft Pierce Waffle House ("GOOD MORNING!!!") for steak (or preferably, pork chops if they have 'em) and eggs......."oh, excuse me, taters covered and smothered please." Fine dining at it's best! (Yeah, I'm down to earth)
The GTLM cars are free to use whatever tire manufacturer they would like (though everyone uses Michelin now that Falken dropped out). GTD is restricted to running Continentals.
We must be looking at something different. I see them both as being on Michelin. Image Unavailable, Please Login
'Got it. I was still lookin' at the 12/23/16 entry list. It was updated with the correction yesterday......mystery solved, thanks.
