F-register is ultrafast in replying - indeed it might be a conversion! JH you are great, and this shows that F-chatters seem to be the most reliable source of information !!! F-register has stated: "the car was spotted road registered in Aug. 2000 in Germany on plates FRG-F 999 and at the Danish 60 anni relay in 2007 (YE 21 444), both times as a "normal" F1 Modena in Rosso Corsa/Nero. There seems to be no competition history in Challenge races for this Serial Number."
I know I am right Here is a pic where you can see the 360 Modena badge still in the cabin. But it is a great comversion. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great - they must have sacrificed a true challenge to build up this hybrid! Do you have a picture of this car where one sees the speedo? Is it converted, too?
- well, and then the question comes up, what else apart from the serial number has been taken from the Red car - seems much easier to take the serial number parts and integrate them into the Challenge Car, than the other way around. It would really be interesting to know, what they did! Many thanks for all your posts and insights into this Danish car!
The serial has not been taken from the red car. This is the red car, but painted and with alot of parts from a Challenge car. This car is still a 360 Modena with VIN 116607, but with a lot of modifications. And you are welcome. Ask away if you have any other questions regarding to cars here. We have an extensive database with Danish Ferraris.
- this "conversion" is indeed incredible - F-register has provided me another picture of the interior of the car. JH: may you explain us the Danish regulation that makes such a conversion reasonable? In Switzerland, if you modify a car by any means, you must have this approved by an official inspection. It would therefore be much easier to modify the original Challenge to standards the official authority would tolerate, than to put all items of a Challenge car into a standard Modena... One of JMB Racing 360's was road registered in Monaco in 2005 ( Reg: X 045 ). I'm guessing it was 360 Challenge #118775 N-GT #002M. http://www.supercarfrance.com/MC70/Part-1/17.jpg http://www.supercarfrance.com/MC70/Part-1/18.jpg

Just for future readers I must repeat my statement on ZFFY51C000128322 also in this thread here: This british car is NOT a 360 Challenge car, but an ordinary 360 Modena with some challenge parts put on. Particularly the body shell, transmission, suspension etc, and the VIN are NOT from a challenge car. This is a standard Modena that has been tuned and used for some private racing.
was before it was made road legal to make it road legal ? or a race car that had been crashed (light damage) as they do, and then was made road legal may be ? you also missed out RHD, there was never a RHD challenge 360, LHD cars on UK roads are a pain, I guess that makes it also not a challenge car
Dear ModenaChallenge, Thanks for all your updates! Your auction car is obviously a hinny, i.e. a hybrid. As mentioned earlier and elsewhere, I would be interested into which two cars have been involved in the creation of this hybrid. As far as I understand, you propose: Donor 1: Crashed 360CH race car of Peter Sowerby. There are several infos about P.S. and his 2003 and later races online, and P.S.’ race car had a similar livery as does your current car. However you haven’t provided the VIN of this 360CH donor yet. Could you check the VIN and crash date with Damax? Race Report - Rounds 7 & 8 - 2004 Pirelli Maranello Ferrari Challenge - Club Racing Series' - Ferrari Owners' Club Seems the car has been rapidly repaired after this incident 2004 Pirelli Maranello Ferrari Challenge - Club Racing Series' - Ferrari Owners' Club 2003 Pirelli Maranello Ferrari Challenge - Club Racing Series' - Ferrari Owners' Club Donor 2: a standard 360 Modena donor car, VIN ZFFY51C000128322. Are there other donors involved? Which parts of the present car are from donor 1, which from donor 2? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here for the completeness of the thread an older pic of NL 53-RBJ-9. Tom, can you confirm that this is VIN 136527? Here is also a Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu1C3XLLbrU Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes that is 136527 with road registration done IIRC in Belgium. Team sister car 136526 is in NL too (and still in factory white)
