Some nice cars are auctioned next week. Anybody joins this auction Monday the 8th? Ciao Oscar ps I will be there Monday night......
Have fun. But as far as I know, you are neither buying nor selling...so it's just going to the show? Cheers
Well, you never know.... That little OSCA almost got my name on it......quite some nice Ferrari's as well, star of the show is the 1956 250 GT TdF (still remembering your ex made a nice figure....), a 275 GTB alloy and some other nice cars. And my wife always wanted a Pagoda.....(but RHD not handy). Some years ago there was a 360 NGT for almost nothing, next year I bought one. We will see, going for a nice lunch anyway, Ciao Oscar
Will be attending this as well today Was there yesterday and God, that 250 TdF looks amazing... Alloy 275 not too shabby either!
Just visited the cars and to be honest some are not in the best condition. The 275 has a wrong nose and questionable body.... The F40 has probably more miles than 12k and looks quite shabby. We will see what happens tonight but will not be the new standard in prices I guess.... Ciao Oscar
?? You sign and get a line of credit. You bid buy any Ferrari. The auction house stores it for you. A year later you put it up with the same auction house. They send you a check. Your only cost is interest on line. What's not to like? Until the music stops and there's no seat for you...
Some capitol gain tax in the USA Yes, Oscar that 275 GTB nose looks odd to me as well but it seems some people will buy anything.
Until there is no greater fool to pay for the line of credits cost, taxes and auction house fees the party goes on. When there is no greater fool it's like a set of car keys falling out of a Lear Jet.
It was a real auction. Firm prices for some cars, especially Ferraris are still quite hot. The shabby F40 was bought for almost 1 million euro.....there were quite some bidders on the car. A almost new 328 went for 200k many people were interested in the 200 miles car.....but the 275 went for 2.2 or so....that car was as I mentioned before questionable regarding body. Good cars bring good money. Many people attended the auction and a lot people bid. I did not buy the OSCA, I think about 20 people were bidding on this car. Ciao Oscar
Sold to Switzerland. Joining another TDF, a 250 MM, an MC12, an FXX and many others as well, all in the same collection. Marcel Massini
Yes the Osca was a good looking car, almost as miniature Maserati 250F . So yes some people value the esthetics! But in general London is end of season, so people not as excited as in California...but agree some smaller cars were subject to real competition. The red 250GTE at close to 380 euro all in was quite surprising for a far from perfect car! And the TDF went at its normal price, still quite interesting you cannot get a street SWB for the price of a race TDF all alloy with long term ownership ( not current one but CG) and very interesting race history with pictures etc. Tells us what market prefers...and I know what I prefer! I passed on this car 6 years ago, or more accurately RM refused my offer 6 years ago to swap on another TDF plus cash,,,but still a very nice car. In my view well bought.
Very nice, thanks. The OSCA was my favourite I saw at the auction. Must be so cool to race that in the Historics. The noise was spectacular. Unfortunately my internet started to get really bad when the Ferrari collection started to come; starting with the 275 GTB...I just gave up after that.
