It's really good. The decor is even better than the food.

The food is average, the decoration is cool.

It's been several years since I was there, but I was quite pleased. It seems more "local" than Cavallino. My suggestion would be lunch at Cavallino and dinner at Montana. For a non-Ferrari dining experience it has to be Osteria Francescana in Modena, consistently one of the highest rated restaurants in the world.

For lunch i cant recommend the little restaurant Giallo Modena at the Enzo museum highly enough, very accommodating, great simple food and location can't be beat! They even take bookings Giallo Modena - Restaurant - Cafeteria

And a second for Francescana - a true "experience" place to dine although next time i would pick a great red and a great white to accompany the various courses of the taster menu rather than take the accompanying wine.

If you want to head to Bologna, Il Cantuccio is fatastic as is Panoramica. Slightly further out in the sticks is Amerigo Dal 1934. If you can hit it in mushroom/truffle season this is THE place to go! Amerigo dal 1934: Trattoria, Dispensa e Locanda di Design - Savigno (Bologna) ITALIA

Great food and atmosphere. All sort of Ferrari memorabilia. Engine blocks, helmets, signed napkins are a big thing. You name it from Ferrari its on the walls or on shelves. Can walk there from the Planet.

We had a great time at Montana. Just get a nice bottle of wine (or 3 between 2 of us in our case!) and let them bring the food. And I mean that literally -- we didn't see a menu, just told them what we liked and the food kept coming. I think you can combine and order things whichever way you want, like half portions of pasta, sampling whatever they have available that day, etc. Atmosphere being around other Tifosi is great too. Highly recommend, one of my more memorable meals in Italy.

Well, I guess it depends on what is your reference of good Italian food ;-)

Montana is not bad but average at best. In Modena or Bologna there will be tons of better restaurants than Montana, for a lower price.

To each their own. I have been to quite a few of those places in Modena as well.

I think that's the key at Cavallino, and maybe it also applies at Montana. The tourists aren't served the same menu as the locals.
