Thank you Pap. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this, but I can't. I had a major breakdown today at work also, And I was unfortunately not able to secure a plane ticket soon enough to go to the funeral today. Man how I wish this were a bad dream..

    I miss him so much

You are a kind person, Pap. Even though I didn't get to go to California to be at his funeral, the church set up a web stream for people who couldn't make it, or because it was too full for anyone else to get in (Lusk was a huge superstar in this sport and his death hit hard on just about every rider and industry person in the sport, so there were a lot of grieving people)

Watching the stream was the final stroke for me. Just listening to his friends and family members speak brought me to tears in a big way. I feel so bad for his wife Lauren, and his parents Chuck and Gina.

If you're at all interested, the stream can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mgi80Nweef4

it is separated into 11 parts and it's extremely touching. A recommendation for anyone who looked up to Jer as a person and a rider.

A special tribute video here, as well. Worth the 3min watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKwTWCdfYEc

It's still hard to imagine that he's gone, but i can find comfort in the fact that, not only did he go out doing something he truly loved, he went out on top - Rider of the year, and X Games gold medalist - he left behind a legacy that only some riders can ever dream of having. He's gone for now, but I will see him again someday. I love you, Jeremy. Forever and ever.

~In God's Hands~ (tattooed across Jeremy's chest just days before his accident)
    :(

Thank Niklas! The video stream has been removed from Youtube, but I still watched the tribute video. :):)

Take care mate and stay strong. :):)

RIP - Hopefully his family and friends are coming to terms with this terrible loss.

Heard the news when it happened but just watched the video today. http://www.tu.tv/videos/jeremy-lusk-crash-at-x-knights-in-costa

Really sad to see this but I guess the risks in this sport are extremely high. When I've seen these guys on TV I always wondered how close they can be to a life threating injury if something goes wrong.

It's been awhile, and i still have trouble sleeping. I still find myself trying to get ahold of Jeremy and then I realize that he's gone and it hurts. I haven't really spoken to his other friends, but his wife Lauren is hanging in there. Thank you for your well wishes though. We're holding in.

I do agree with you though that the sport of fmx is really dangerous and has gotten to the point where a person must go out and TRY to kill themselves in order to even place top3. That's one of the reasons why I gave it up. The risks were just not worth it. I had to take a step back and ask myself, do i want to be in a wheel chair the rest of my life? It was one of the hardest decisions I've had to make but my helmet is finally hung up for good. The slightest mistake mid-air and you come crashing down 70 feet to rock hard dirt, so any crash is life threatening. It sucks, and it's really painful :(
