    Hi all.

Can anyone advise me on the procedure to get the left hand door card off so I can replace my window glass (badly scratched by some idiot) and the motor (died at the age of 29, much mourned)?

    Thanks,

    Keeping the Faith

    Ray.

Do the windows on the 400 not go all the way down? When either side of mine are in the full down position, there is about 1/4" of glass that protrudes above the door sill.

Do I need to tear the door apart and make an adjustment, or were they designed like this?

The one of mine that still works leaves about the same above the door cap. Suspect that's how they're made.

Kraig, my windows are the same. Don't go down all the way. I wonder if that's not intentional, to protect that lining on the sill from people's arms. The attention to detail in these cars is unbelievable.

Yep, that's the way they are. Why, I don't know. Maybe it's to keep people from resting their arm out the window when they are cruising the Dairy Queen on Saturday nights!

Mine is the poor relation when I bring it to the Ferrari mechanic here in New Orleans, but I feel sort of superior about the car, despite the fact I've got tape over the holes where the missing bumper extension ought to be, and a cheap seat cover and mats. Having a 12-cylinder is a true privilege, and having one at the prices most of us paid is really something to be smug about.

    This should be interesting....

How much did you have to pay for a door glass?

Mine cost £75GBP + VAT and carriage from Eurospares. Motor is aftermarket and cost the same from same source.

    Keeping the Faith,

    Ray.
