    Drivers seat worn to point of no return. Has anyone reupholstered their interior using Re-originals replacement cover kits or similar. Trying to decide if I should go this route or have local upholstery shop make covers. I’m really hoping for factory new look on seats and console

    Beautiful,I’ve always loved the Daytona look. Probably looking at stock covers though to keep costs down. Did you install covers yourself or have an upholsterer do them. They look perfect

    I had them installed locally, I wasn't going to risk goofing them up somehow . . .

    They can be..
    Interiors are fiddly. The carpets, dash, rear shelf etc.. straight forward and not that difficult but time consuming. The door panels... Yeah that's where it starts to get frustrating. The seats though, hands down can be a real PITA if your not used to upholstery work. They will fight every mm of the way.
    But it's all handmade work originally, so yeah it's DIY, just know going in, you'll learn new insults and swear words in a variety of languages.

    I purchased Alfa parts from Matt at Re-Orginals back when I lived in Houston in the 80s and other parts since. He was always been very helpful. If he can't supply it and be confident in the outcome, he won't do it.
    I agree with the previous post. Find a local shop to install correctly made covers. From what I have seen, there are a lot of tricks in stretching the wrinkles out. Brute hand strength works, but brute strength with technique is better.

    Along with the 328 I have a Z3 coupe. Had a set of BMW seat covers that were almost new installed by local shop. Perfect job with great fit. Dropped seats off at shop. Best left to expert. I know once seats are done the console will look shabby. Time to bite the bullet! Those Daytona seats are calling my name. Thanks for the input

    I have done seats... DIY yes but you need skills. My seat bottom on the driver side has a small split. I could potentially take that out and ask a shop to make me one like it and reinstall.

    I bought a set of seat and door panels for my 1978 GTB from Nick. I had a custom upholsterer install and I'm pleased. The embossed Cavallinos on the headrests were not original in '78 but they hardly show. Have a pro do the work because the side bolsters break down and need re-padding to shape.
