Where can I order a replacement key for a F430 I have the key card, but am missing one original key My local Ferrari dealer wants over $1,000
There are other threads on this but what I think it comes down to is You can cut a replacement key that will work the doors Nd ignition for a couple hundred on ebay To get a key with electronics, and get it fully programmed so the buttons on the key work remotely I think you are at the mercy of the dealer At least this is what I gathered
I have a guy in Toronto, but I dont think that does you any good. I had one done for my 430 $400 cad. Can't tell it apart from the stock key.
Contact @gobble a forum sponsor about all things key related, he has your answer. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/does-anyone-need-key-fob-help-in-south-florida-this-week.652923/
Please update us if you find a solution. I’ve searched extensively for my last 2 F430, but ended up paying the dealer price. Was $750 for the Key and one hour labor to program. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
You can get a key blank and get the mechanical portion cut. However you need both the transponder pill and then the remote fob entered into the car by the dealer. Good that you have one of the needed pieces which is the code card for the car. That shows the mechanical code where the dealership would order the pre-cut key from Ferrari and then the learning code to add the key. I just had to deal with the 2nd key issue at SF Ferrari. They told me that they could only get the 2nd key to start the car but not unlock the doors. Told them hell no and to get back to work. Sadly took them like 4-5 hours since they did not know what they were doing. This was with the 2nd key being sealed new key direct from Ferrari. I am sure if I walked in with an eBay key they would blame the key. I did get an aftermarket key body from eBay and transfer in the "guts" from a real Ferrari key. Ended up not using that one since I was able to get my original seller to cover the 2nd key cost.
The reason I was annoyed was the SF Ferrari told me it would be less than an hour and I decided to wait for the service. Every 30 min they were "really close" Anyways here is the assembled aftermarket key body that would need to go to a locksmith prior to taking to the dealership with car code card. Also bring any working keys since all need to be at the programming. (original key on top, OEM replacement in bag lower right and then aftermarket below with empty shell on left bottom)
They key card (mechanical and programming code) you can order from any dealership as long as you provide the ownership documents. Ferrari back before 2020 would allow non-dealerships to order keys but now requires dealership to order from Italy. I think you could email around the nation for various pricing of the dealerships of the key once you have your mechanical code which matches the VIN and therefore the ignition tumbler. Then you need to likely find a shop (dealership or other) with SD3 who knows how to do the pairing. Like I pointed out the poorly trained techs at Silicon Valley Ferrari (typo before as it was not SF Ferrari) told me 30 min and took 5 hours. They use the code from the card to pair all keys you have in hand at the time to the ignition (pill in key) and remote fob to unlock the doors. Any keys not in hand for the learn cycle will lose their pairing.
