    Hi all,

Looking for a place I can relocate the P-Car so the F-Car can take its rightful place in the garage--

Anyone know of a secure parking solution (storage facility that will accept cars or otherwise) on the west side? The closer to Santa Monica, the better.

I saw that someone had mentioned such a facility in Marina Del Ray but that was in a pretty old post--if anyone knows where that facility is let me know.

    Thanks!

Look at Storage USA in El Segundo, alot of P.O.C. guys keep their race cars there, it's underground . Also Tillacks in South Bay. Going to run about $215-$300 a month. Good luck.

Im looking for a two car spot myself. I have a 328, alfagtv, and a sl Mercedes. So I will need at least two spaces plus some storage on the side for wheels tools etc. I have 400 a month budjet in mind. I know a place in alhambra for 340 a month you get a 30 by 10, or for 199 a month you can get a 10 by 15. Looking in ORange county. I will settle for a storage unit that allows cars to be pulled in with no night restrictions. JJ

For all those looking here's what i found in or around the west side:

In general, drive-up storage spaces are hard to find and many storage facilities won't take cars for various reasons

Stor-It on Del Rey Avenue in Marina Del Rey will take cars, 10x20 roll-up garage costs $409 / mo. Could be a bit close to the water for those worried about it.

Price Self Storage on National Blvd and S. La Brea (W. LA) will also take cars in their individual garages (but have long waiting lists).

Storage USA on El Segundo (in El Segundo) is the cheapest at $224/mo but this is an underground shared lot, not individual garages. Still, people store their race cars their, etc. so I've been assured its reasonably safe.

Finally craigslist has a garage / storage rental section as someone else mentioned. Funny thing is alot of the single garages on the west side are ~8' wide so you can't get out of the car even if you can get the car into the garage.

Hope that is helpful for others who are looking.

Here's an idea (I did this when I was in the Chicago area):
Look for retirement communities that have indoor, underground parking, and see if you can rent a space or two there. Places like that have enough spaces for all of the residents, but many of them are no longer driving, leaving some spots vacant.

But many of the ones that do drive aren't very 'door ding' friendly! :)
