For those too cheap to buy the special spark plug boot remover tool...this is the way to remove the boot with even less force than the special tool. on 348's use your 18mm wrench over the detent of the boot in the same area used by the special tool. hold the wrench on the 19mm end then place your pry bar under the wrench and give a gentle push and the boot comes right up. You never break a boot this way and you never bust a knuckle. There is no damage to the boot and your cost is ZERO.

I'd add a rag under the pry bar to protect the paint! My way is similar.... I just use a longer wrench with a 1" block of wood to act like a teeter-todder, works for me. 1st time with those boots was just stupid wrestling with them. I actually started thinking there must be some special way to squeeze them to release... shakes head, LOL!

I'm so happy to see my old car getting love. I just got my spider back from major yesterday. I stretched it out to 12 years but only 10,000 miles driven in that time. The belt showed some signs of stretching and had burn/drag marks but otherwise not beat up. the tensioner and idler were original as they were not changed by LFS during the first major at 6,000 miles. They were in surprisingly in good shape. Smooth and quiet but ever so slight wobble. I went with the Hill upgrade kit. So yeah, there you have it 12 closer to 13 years. Next one in FIVE

I wish I had seen this thread the other day......7 leads popped out and #2 broke. Does anyone have an original #2 or #7 348 ign lead they would be willing to sell ? Thanks, JGW

Unlike the 355, you can make your own 348 ignition wires.

It has always gotten a lot of love. It is a great car with a great lineage of caretakers one of which is you. We took the easy route and just ordered everything from Ricambi including the new reman 348 waterpump with spiral impeller. What a work of art. Does Ricambi have class or what? No cardboard boxes for Ricambi only the best to protect the best. How's that red top box for a shipping crate! Class! That's all you can say.

Ooh! I spy those sexy Ronal wheels. God I wish I had a set of those for the spider. I love my spider but the Bushmobile is always gonna be the one that got away. Keep loving on her.
