Access to the clips for the "Ferrari" emblem on the decklid is blocked by the mesh. To remove the mesh it appears I have to disassemble everything and drill out the rivets which I would like to avoid. I have not yet attempted but thought I would ask, has anyone removed the clips for this emblem without removing the mesh under the panel?
You can use a dental pick type tool to pry away the legs of the two circular clips that hold the script. To restore the script, just bend the tabs back into place and replace them with needle-nose pliers. You can work around and thru the mesh to do this. Another option is to simply cut out a couple of sections of the mesh for easier access to the clips. This is good for someone who details the decklid regularly. By remving the script it is much easier to get after the decklid with an orbital. Hope this helps. Ken Image Unavailable, Please Login
I will give it a try, thanks Ken! I did want to remove it to polish the paint. (and also to replace it as it has a few scuffs).
I have a perfect brand new one I'd sell for what I paid for it if you're interested. Just send me a PM.
Got the clips off no problem. Held on by adhesive tape on the ends and middle as well. Gets pretty nasty under there. I think it would be rather difficult to re-install the clips with the grill in place but I'll give it a try. Appreciate the offer Jerry but I ordered one from Ricambi before I saw your post. I used 2 picks and worked it out from under the deck, one spot in the grill at a time until I could reach it from the top. (also used a magnet with the metal clips)
I'm in the process of a major detail on a F355 and at the point where I have to remove the rear deck emblem. How did you get the clip back up to secure the new emblem ? Any help is greatly appreciated
They didn't Been a while but I thought they came with double sided tape, which is all that is holding it on now. If it doesn't come with that, I guess I put it on there.
Damn. Previous owner bolted mine up. Can’t get to it without removing the grille. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
