Ahh, I was going to post this a few weeks ago but forgot. Found it on google news randomly. This was the infamous Ferrari-thief pilot! Whatever happened to the guy who got picked up trying to buy a 512tr out in California back in the day with the Steve Wynn ransom money? I remember the first time I saw ocean's 11 my ears perked up when Andy Garcia said run and hide and I better not find out about you trying to buy an expensive sports car somewhere in America LOL Nah, this is 10x worse if you ask me. That thread ruled.
Wow this guy keeps popping up doesn't he? Love how the story is supposed to be about his yacht crash yet it's mostly about the Ferrari story we all know and love.
What ownership- the yacht was abandoned by the F-50 car thief and Palm Beach paid to have it cut up and hauled off. One article I read said he'd received an insurance settlement already on the yacht. So this dirt bag who is so brazen he doesn't even pay for filling up the F-50, was sentenced to a couple of years in custody. BUT they arrange it so he can fly for Jet-Blue on certain days. Now if I was an airline, I would certainly NOT be allowing a car thief to fly my passengers ANYWHERE. Eventually he gets a drunk driving ticket and is fired. Jump forward six years and here he is with a yacht Now if he has enough money to buy a yacht, why didn't the insurance company sue him? He's the one who STOLE the car causing them to pay off Algar. The FBI certainly is guilty as can be, but this guy is the one who started the mess. Why didn't they go after him? This guy is teflon coated. Palm Beach should go after him for the full cost of removing the yacht. What's this guy gonna do next? Watch out for smooth talkers if you list your Ferrari for sale.
Incredible story ............ I've lost track so has this car been fixed, sold, etc... ??? RUFMD must be heartbroken every time he remembers the story. Beautiful car and photos at the beginning of this thread. MDS
According to this post by SupercarGuru it was last seen at the 2015 Miami Beach Concours and he believes the car has been sold once again. If that's accurate it was probably one of these two cars - likely the one with amber front indicators as the other one could likely be a ROW car. EDIT: Actually yes, the one on the right has the thin Yellow stripe identifying it almost certainly as F50 #001 built originally for Jean "Beurlys" Blaton, S/N 103097, now with Dennis Akoyaking. >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login
A picture of the new tub.. Or maybe, school us all on how you suitably patch/repair/recure such an important part. I assume it can be done.... ????
Staying OUT of the news is a challenge, on some days. This is a man that needs AA. Back to the thread about the repaired, for sale, no issues, discounted F50.
Is his GF HOT?? I bet she was tired, after that long journey. "Shallow waters not indicated on the GPS" I love that, against the Miami Beach skyline!!! Why didn't he call TOW BOAT US? That's going to be some b ill, offloading all that fuel!!! Phone call would have been cheaper.
His mug shot appeared in the article that was linked in the post from abolfaz Should probably be posted at Ferrari dealerships across the nation. >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login
Glad you were able to help solve the mystery of the F50. I don't know if you ever got one in the end. I hope you did.
