Ended up only opening one more bottle. 2014 David Arthur Elevation 1147. Drank these up at my Yountville home last night. My buddy Dave Del Dotto and his family came by for dinner. Started with a 2008 J Schram sparkling.

Opened all of the bottles 2 hours before serving with a good double decant and back into the bottles. MacDonalds were great. Davis was excellent. Of course the Rubicon was good also.

Makes sense that you would have a Yountville connection to have access to those gems...

We plan on Yountville in February if it is open.

Drank my last 2000 Sloan with some Flannery Steaks for Saturday night dinner. It was very good.

I used to be on Fairchild/Stones list but have enough and you can find it cheaper on secondary market. The only lists remaining are Scarecrow, Maybach, MacDonald and SQN.

I am a huge Caymus fan. I will have to try this ASAP. Regular Caymus is about $75 a bottle & Special Selection about $200. What's the price point of the 1858?
    Have a great day!

Of course MacDonald is greatness . . .

Though passed well over 7 Centuries, Great-Great-etc.-Grandfather MacDonald AKA Big Mac AKA Lord Of The Isles still expects nothing less than greatness.

1858 is on sale for $60 now. I thought it was good. I think I prefer Red Schooner (Wagner family) and like Caymus more than both. All are great wines though.

Earthy with hints of tobacco. Very smooth.

A bit young but it was on my list of wines to try in 2021 so why not. I would probably give this another 5-7 years to really shine.

Going to order a few cases and let them sit for a while before enjoying again.

Got carried away on NewYears Eve and ordered 26 more...

This morning, I ordered a set of red wine glasses from Tiffany & Co. I can’t wait for them to arrive so I can be extra fancy while I drink my favorite red wines. :D

I used to use Zalto until I found Grassl Glass. I highly recommend Grassl Glasses (look up CJF selections). I use 1855 for reds and Liberte for Champs/whites. Return policy if you don't like them. Plus, I bought them on promotion with a replacement policy if broken (even if it is your fault).

That is very special indeed. I had to buy OWCs of all of them separately! Was that from Bond directly?

Very nice. Yes, from Bond directly. I also have a few single bottle of varying vintages.
