DFW Recommendations for an Ellis county property tax company?

you probably saw my other thread 2 years ago, just don't do it yourself! unless you are just looking to negotiate by mail, they usually give you 5-10% off to avoid a hearing. just don't go to the hearing by yourself, no matter how well you think you are prepared and numbers in your favor, you will still get your ass kicked. the "independent" board and the county are all in cahoots. it isn't that your one property doesn't deserve a more fair valuation, it is if they give in too much on yours, it then questions their overall appraisal process. my feeling was the professional companies that deal with the county all the time get a pass just like major accident, DUI, and speeding attorneys. There is a gentleman's agreement just to avoid a hearing and litigation and the county will give up a little more so that the firms client feels satisfied. doing it by yourself just results in losing any last respect and hope for government, if any even remained.
