I am looking at purchasing a 360 in the Miami area. Can anyone recommend a reliable private shop that can do a pre purchase inspection?

First, congrats on your pending purchase!!

Second, kudos for doing a PPI before you buy!!

    Third, this is easy:

Contact Christian or Stuart at Blackhorse Motors in Ft. Lauderdale - 954-561-2553. They are factory Ferrari trained techs with tons of experience that opened an independent shop. Honest, reliable, and have the SDII required for the 360's. Tell them that Fred with the Titanium Stradale sent ya'!!

Oh, and let us know the outcome!!

You may also consider F-car guru Tim Stanford.
He is one of the absolute best and is a regular contributor to the Florida Region
FCA magazine. Can't speak highly enough about him.
As a matter of fact I bumped into him today at Cavallino.
Tell him Rick with the Doxa and 89 T Coupe sent you.
    His number is 954-764-7824.

I have used Black Horse quite a bit for mechanical work as well as for some touch ups and bumper re-sprays and I would recommend them in a blink.

Tim Stanford is top tier Ferrari care at a reasonable price- and HONEST! He has been recc'd and been given highest marks by F-chatters for many years (look through these pages.)

(I have no financial interest in posting this recommendation.)

No doubt that Tim Stanford is awesome, honest, and knows his stuff.......but, Tim does NOT have the SDII needed to do a complete inspection of the car. This guy wants a 360 checked, and that requires the SDII. Tim is a great recommendation for 355's and older models, but for anything newer that requires the computer the better choice is BlackHorse.

why do you need an sd-2 to do a PPI ON A 360 ???? OTHER THAN TO CHECK THE READOUT ON THE CLUTCH ?

The SDII has a wealth of information......Clutch readings, engine statistics, transmission statistics, etc, etc, etc..... Will tell you a LOT of stuff that you can't 'see'...

Not to mention, if any work needs to be done (ie even bleeding the brakes), you need the SDII.
