I had to replace my secondary air pump in my 360.... main issue I am having now is getting the hose clamps to tighten. It seems clear that a special tool is needed or my wrenching acumen is not what it should be. Can't seem to get these clamps to resnap into position. Do I just need to gets some old school screw down clamps instead?

    Any guidance would be appreciated!

Kevin, you rock! Thank you so much! That is exactly it. There is a 30.1 on the side of the clamp which corresponds to the clamp on both ends of the right angle hose:

I am sure I could just get some hose clamps from NAPA which would do the trick, but it would be nice to keep it close to OEM.

You will have your order in 48 hrs. That company is really good at shipping! As good as Ricambi! ;-)

There is no reason to keep those basterd clamps. You cannot re-use them. You cannot easily undo them. You have to cut them off with a dremmel tool. And you are unlikely going to have them in a bind on the side of a freeway. Even with a dremmel tool, you might not have the space to access them. Or you might not want to cause that much sparking in the engine bay near something that may burn.

The only people it helps is the factory who can clamp it on in 3 seconds and move on. Everybody else after that gets shafted. I would never put another one of those clamps back on after I take the first one off.

I couldn't wait 48h. I just went to NAPA and got some standard perforated clamps. Made the job easy to finish.

I appreciate the input from everyone else. Perhaps I'll hold off on getting the OEM style replacement. :)

I've got them all over my Audi. Horrible bastard things. Nearly impossible to get off if in a slightly difficult spot and then you have to replace them. I just went and replaced all I could with wormdrive clamps. Never looked back.

I wouldn't bother unless you have Concours winner on your hands.

I prefer Vibrant Performance Pinch Clamps available at summit racing, the clamps are made of 300 series Stainless Steel. Summitracing.com "https://m.summitracing.com/search/part-type/hose-clamps?keyword=Vibrant"

I purchased my clamp pinch tool on Amazon $20. "Ideal-Tridon 61001V Crimp Clamp Tool"

    Very satisfied with both product.

Worm drive clamps are ugly! I like this style of clamp but prefer the upgraded CAD plate ones that are specific for a certain size hose, or even the dark coated ones that Ricambi has. They aren't that hard to take off you just need the tool to loosen them up. Or some good pliers or dykes to pinch with. IMHO

Been reported that the cheap spring wire clamps work best because they keep constant pressure on the hose. They are ugly and sometimes a pain to remove.
