Is there another way (button combination) to reboot the infotainment system? (instead of just opening/closing the door)?

Apple Carplay wireless stopped working, even after opening/closing the doors and removing/adding the phone etc. A factory reset worked, it explicitly reboots as part of the reset and wireless Carplay works again.

It would be nice to have a reboot option for the infotainment system without doing a factory reset.

I was hoping for some magic button press combination. Or just use a cable for reliable working Apple Carplay?

    Won’t use a cable connection.

I’ve found CarPlay will resume after toggling Bluetooth on the phone. Then explicitly tell the phone to reconnect to the car.

Try this: open/close door, walk away (to lock the car), and then come back. I think the system doesn't actually power cycle until the car locks/unlocks.

When Apple CarPlay stops working, on your iPhone go to Settings > General > CarPlay, select your vehicle, turn off CarPlay and then turn it back on again.

I’ve found this reconnects CarPlay within around 30 seconds.

You may need to toggle your iPhone Bluetooth off and on first also.

    Hope this helps!

if you are doing the lock car, walk away process, make sure to leave the car for a solid amount of time- I wish I could tell you the exact amount- but I would think at least 30 minutes.

Pardon my mentioning the obvious, but do you know how to restart the iphone? It’s the iphone version of ctrl-alt-delete. On newer iPhones, unlock the phone, then press each button independently and then press the following

    Volume up; let go
Volume down; let go, and then press and hold the
Side button that locks and wakes the phone- keep holding this button until the screen goes blank, it may ask to swipe to shut down, just keep holding the button. When the screen goes blank, then let go, it might seem like the phone has died, press that side button a few times and you should see a large apple logo and the phone will come back. Your settings are still there, but its like a reboot of the phone.

I also note that it seems to take up to 5 minutes before my iphone will wirelessly connect to the car. So make sure you dont turn the car on, and judge it a failure to connect after only a few seconds. Usually it takes my car about 90 seconds.
