The dash states that my rear passenger tail light is out. Not sure how this can occur as there are a bunch of individual LED lights that make up the tail light. Every time I press the light, I get "chime" from the dash due to the light being out. It looks like you have to do surgery to get to the light assembly. Has anybody else had this problem? It is intermittent but lately it has remained a problem. Thanks for any help!

That error has never appeared on my 458’s dash, but if it did the first thing I would do is verify that one or more of the LED lights is actually out. Perhaps your wife, or a friend can assist with this endeavour?

If you do see some of the LED’s are not working, (or if they are all working correctly) the first thing I would do is check the electrical connection for any corrosion, or a loose connector. This will require removal of the light.

Electrical anomalies can occur… LED lights do fail as well, but they generally have a very long life. The intermittent nature of the dash warning would have me thinking a loose/cracked connection or corrosion, but I’m guessing of course…

You need to verify if one or more of the lights is actually out before you proceed. Good luck to you and best wishes for a Happy Holiday Season!

    Cheers!

Thanks for the response. The rear brake light works without any LED lights out. Even though the light works perfectly fine, I get the dash light. Is there a light sensor that may be going bad? If so, can someone pinpoint the location? Thanks for any help.

Does anybody have an electrical diagram of the rear brake lights? Thanks for any help.
