Did your Ferrari leave the factory with Red paint?

  1. Yes, it came from the factory red and this can be documented.

  2. No, it was originally some other color and was repainted red.

I see the popularity of red in the "What color is your Ferrari" poll. Now I wonder, how many red Ferraris are supposed to be red.

Is your car "Resale Red?" A car that came from the factory in some other, less popular color and was repainted red by a previous owner (or perhaps by YOU!)

    OR

Did your car come from the factory in red or a similarly "red looking" color, and your Heritage certificate shows it.

There are more than one red though: there is Rosso Monza, which is now called Rosso Fiorano and possibly some other variation.

I dont know anyone that would buy a Ferrari that is not red, then paint it red. It makes more sense doing it the other way around. Red is the most common Ferrari color and not really hard to get ahold of if you want a red Ferrari. And that goes for almost any model.

I think you meant that the other way around?? --- buy a red car and paint it another color???? I did (actually the previous owner did) --- My 308 was originally Rossa Corsa (red) over tan. During a body repair following a small front-ender collision, the previous owner instructed the body shop to repaint the entire car Nero (black), and said, quote, "I don't want to see any red anywhere on the car when you're done!"

So, I got the car I was looking for, in the color scheme that I was looking for --- Black over tan, with fresh, high quality ($5K job) paint.

Before you all chide in... Understand the previous owner of my car is a legendary owner in the Ferrari community of the Pacific Northwest --- he currently owns a 288GTO, an F40, an F50, and an Enzo (among other significant F-cars). He knows how to take good care of Ferraris.

Therefore, I'd rather own any one of his "altered" used cars than any "original" from most other folks. I don't give a rip about impacts to the resale value from the color / repaint.......I know I have a great car if it came from him.....period.

My GT4 was repainted Red from its original Blue metallic by a previous owner.

I will be changing it back to its proper colour at a later date!!

    I also own a Bianco 348 Spider.

    Regards,
    Phil.

That's what I was thinking. A $5k color change is likely barely better than MAACO quality. Maybe he meant $15k.
