I remember watching these things duelling with the Britten back in the late 80's at Westwood race track outside Vancouver, B.C (Coquitlam). Gary Goodfellow was on the Britten and some hotshot French Canadians on the Hondas....I still remember how impossibly tall the first gear was on these bikes....like slip the clutch to start and shift into second at a ridiculous speed.

Definitely the most collectible Japanese bike. I've had 2 VFR's and the V4 motors are the Ferrari V12's of the motorcycle kingdom. The gear driven cams sound like nothing else. I may try to get an NC30 over here. They are much more my speed these days.

Do this with no regrets. The VFR400 aka NC30 or its younger brother the RVF400 aka NC35 are some of the best bikes ever built. This is my NC35.

If you're 6 feet or taller maybe not so much.

Importing an NC30 would be a snap these days since most of them are now 25 years old.
