Why must there by only one kind of rare? Rare is many people wanted but not many made or maybe something great is made and many peopl dont notice?? Example (rare) is 250 GTO or 288 GTO or maybe even something else like Mr. Eric Clapton orders special order and its nice and also rare (factory makes for special client) Rair is not many people wanted and not many made or something not great and many people still dont think its great but now its rair. Example (not wanting to offend) is green and yellow pain job on brown interior. or many many other things that made people not buy before but nothing makes really special now. That is rair, yes, and not rare. Anyone has thoughts like mine? I will pay more for rare but not more for rair. But sometimes I see rair and higher price or people asking higher price.
Are you making this up? Pulling our leg? Trying to develop a new term for a form of rarity? There is no such word as "rair" the way you are using it. Alden
I used to get specific on words -- but since nobody else shared those details, it didn't work for communications. I freaked people out enough calling OSPF "oz-puff", or SGI "soggy". Then there are those who refer to the EU as "Ew".
Yes, you understand the cpoint! Rare = good! Rair not good!!! I pay $150 for perfeect rare steak but not for rair.
Of course no such word but there should be!! So if I say I have rair car we all understand I say rare 458 by eric clapton (one like 512bb) I say rair xxxx car that has big wings on it maybe and yellow inside with red outside. So I see and say "rair" AHH yes now I know, "if anything I can say that this cab is RAIR" if you all understand what I mean?

5 minutes??? We are similar in some ways. I write too fast and you read too slow Does nobody agree that there are two types of rare. Does it not make sense. I apologize to everyone if this was not the right way to explain. I will also take more time from now forward to write neatly and more slowly.
Great another word for people to use incorrectly! There Their They're Lose Loose Weather Whether Were Where We're
I think one word is fine. Rare is rare. What you are referring to is the rarity effect due to desirability. Sometimes things are rare just because nobody wants them. I have seen many car ads saying "extremely rare color combination!!" And I think "Yes. And that's a good thing."
Mental health[edit] In psychiatry, the term neologism is used to describe the use of words that have meaning only to the person who uses them, independent of their common meaning.[11] This tendency is considered normal in children, but in adults it can be a symptom of psychopathy[12] or a thought disorder (indicative of a psychotic mental illness, such as schizophrenia).[13] People with autism also may create neologisms.[14] Use of neologisms may also be related to aphasia acquired after brain damage resulting from a stroke or head injury.[15] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neologism#Mental_health
Hi Jack, Is this post your desire to create new slang? (i.e. Max B + 'wavy') I looked up the term 'rair' in Urban Dictionary and an found esoteric entry in 2015 (had only 6 votes on it which meant it was a 'one and done' personal entry) - and it also didn't match your definition. Looking at Rap Genius, I have not seen the term used in any lyric, so I doubt it has wide adoption on the bleeding edge streets... Where did you see this term used? I think I get what your saying what 'rair' is supposed to mean. Something that becomes 'rare' in the traditional sense because of unpopularity so many of these objects is discarded and create a rarity due to this initial lack of demand. Case in point: Atari ET. So, I agree with your premise that it can happen. But I think people here (including me) are confused with the etymology of your term and if you are asking can what you describe happen (yes) and/or if people should start using your word?
