I have a 2016 full size Rover - it will hit 129,000 miles this week - only a couple of small unexpected repair bills on it that were non maintenance. probably 3k total of expense for both. It has been bulletproof for me.

I had a 16 Full size as well, was great with no issues and prior years (2005+) were all bulletproof. For whatever reason both the 18 and 19 have been really bad with several issues across both.

For what its worth.. The chassis and wheelbase on the standard full size and the sport are identical.
There is marginal more room in boot with full size..The sport has better manners as far as road holding prowess..
I think the sport is a better choice

we’re off to a really bad start...

that heavy rain last week. Soaked the front carpet. I have no clue how. I tested w compressed air everywhere trying to find how it leaked. Sunroof rails were clear. I’m stumped. It’s dried out now. But this sucks. Windshield guy stopped by. Gaskets not the issue. Idk.

it could be a coolant leak. Have you checked your levels and tasted the moisture?

you might also look at your roof rail areas - these are often not water tight on rovers. Could be the seals under the rails have failed. if not that, you could have clogged or cracked drain tubes.

edit, not the rails, as you don't have them. but that rubber seal where they install could be failing.

if it's any consolation, a lot of these vehicles leak water. For example, if you look at the fabric covering on the trim pieces in the corners of the windshields and the headliner, they usually are "bubbling" (glue detaching) because of periodic water getting in. If yours doesn't already have this, it will.

Update: driving down the highway with my daughter in her LR4 yesterday, a large piece of trim where the windshield joins the body flew off. I exited, made a u-turn, went back, and risked life and limb to retrieve it. I stuck it back on with some duck tape and will probably just leave it that way.

Just thought I would throw it out there. Good luck with your search. Think I might list it in the next week or two. I believe it’s the only one in the US.

I have a 2006 RR Sport with 205k miles. Mostly maintenance and wear/tear items. Last summer the floors started getting soaked. Found out that the sunroof drain elbow where it goes from the a-pillar to the outside had broken and was leaking the sunroof water into the footwell. Since the LR4 is similar to the RRS, it's worth looking for this drain elbow up under the dash. It exits inside the fender. Fairly easy to access by removing the front fender "vents". I think I fixed it by extending the sunroof drain pipe with another piece of pipe. Been dry ever since. The elbow is known to go bad.

Only saw this posting because I'm considering a new LR in the near future, so I'm seeing what's out there. I need something good on the road as a partial-daily but still able to tow a trailer. I've had this RRS, a '95 RR LWB, an '01 RR, and (2) Disco's and this '06 is the best by far.

Completely off topic - just commenting on how awesome it is that one of our members has a Dead Kennedy's emblem as his avatar. Loved that band growing up.

That is all. Please carry on.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw it. Takes me back to my younger days... Mom just get me a Pepsi... lol. On another note I had a Discovery back in the day, had no problems. Just have heard nightmares regarding the newer models. Which I have been temped to buy on several occasions..
