Today after working fine during the morning, no sound, but panel normal, no change with on Off, of radio and or car Anybody have any ideas? Has this happened to you? Anything else I should try?
Does the voice interface work? SAT radio or iPod/iPhone interfaces work? Any audio thru these at all? SV
It has power as light screen is on and you can press buttons and change stations, between SAT, AM, PM etc but no sound
Definitely worth trying a battery reset as ttforcefed has suggested. Only the clock will need resetting after.
My 2014 FF does the same thing, it usually involves me selecting my phone in AUX for Bluetooth audio. Sometimes when Bluetooth audio is not working, I switch over to sat radio, then am, then fm and no sound on any option. Then other times I can switch to sat radio, toggle the volume up and down, then switch back to Bluetooth and the sound will work then. The audio system is lousy any way you look at it.
mine hasn't done it in a cple years - I bet theres an ecu update that gets flashed during one of the annuals
I am out of town for the next week, will give you update upon my return, if not fixed by the. Will take to dealer
I read this thread and tutted - never happened on my 2012 FF.....until this morning!! I just happened to be going Joe Macari dealership for a visit and they explained this is a common fault - the amplifier gets stuck. Solution was to disconnect battery, disconnect amplifier in the boot, have a cup of coffee, reconnect amp, reconnect battery, ignition on for 60 secs, then start up and idle 5mins, and off - ALL DONE and fixed. Many thanks to Archie at Joe Macari for dealing with this on the spot for gratis and boy what a show room these guys have Devonboy
Two weeks ago my FF radio quit responding to any buttons, even on/off, after a few minutes it shut down, a minute later the passenger display shut down. Another minute and it all came back on but with the buttons still locked, and it continued to restart. It took a shut down overnight for it to come back and has not happened since.
I had the same condition as the original poster yesterday with my FF - infotainment/nav system and buttons all appeared to be working normally, but no sound at all to the speakers. Tried it again this morning - no change. Called Ferrari of Washington and although told that in 90% of the cases disconnecting the battery will resolve electrical gremlins, it can also cause other problems and a host of error messages... I took the car to FoW and they did what was called a ‘proxy alignment’ - basically getting the various computer modules in the car back in sync and communicating properly. This was done after disconnecting the battery. Once completed the speaker issue was resolved and an intermittent issue I had with the tailgate of the FF now seems to be resolved too - it would sometimes open a small bit and then re-closed when the tailgate button next to the seat was pressed. James at FoW took care of my issues in less than 30 minutes and sent me on my way.
I’ve just had my windshield replaced at my dealership Ferrari FtLauderdale, Now for some reason Radio has no reception just a crackle sound on FM and AM all other head unit functions work.
I might be wrong, but I think the radio antenna on the FF is in the front windshield - so it could be that the radio is not connected (or the windshield does not have the antenna in it?)?
Car has been with dealership now 7 days they reinstalled the windscreen and the issue is still there , They have no answers it must be in the installation process, but I’ve taken the car home will Invest in satellite radio.
Had similar issue, Radio on but No sound. Took it my Dealer and they just unplugged the Battery let it sit for 1 minute and plugged it back in and it started working fine again. Only caveat is you have to set the time and date again. Thanks.
A few years ago I had this regularly, but in recent years I have not had any problems with it. By the way, if you know that this can happen, it is no problem to disconnect the car from the power yourself and reset the system.
