458 Radio Troubleshoot Question / Advice

    Recently my radio has been making a popping noise and then turning off by itself. It'll be on and playing music fine for a few minutes without issue, then make a speaker pop noise, then shuts off. Has anyone experience such a thing and if so, how did you resolve it? Not sure if it's the head unit, controller, or bad amp perhaps?

    It turns back on fine manually, but will repeat the self-shut-off process each time, after a few minutes.

    Only the Radio or also the other Media functions? The module has a fan. Maybe the fan is defect and the unit turns off due to overheating. I am sure, you need to disassemble the dashboard and remove the unit.

    If it happens with any input then check the speaker wiring...might have an occasional short...
