Hi all , is there any way to test the operation of the fans on the Dino? Whilst messing about with the carbs on the car, the engine temp was over the half way mark on the gauge and there was no fans cutting in. Was wondering what temp they chime in at?
As usual, any help gratefully received!?!?!?!

Wondered about mine also this last month in the heat and found they come on at about 95C degrees as indicated by the temp gauge. I'm not claiming my dash gauge is accurate, just that is what it indicates.

You can test the fans by bypassing the Thermo switch located on the front of the radiator a little on the passenger's side. Look through the "chin" opening on the front of the car below the grill, find the device screwed into the bottom of the radiator and see the two wires attached to it.

PS - Since it faces forward it could be just dirty and needing a good cleaning of the contacts.

    fans often crap out.

should come on at 190 degrees.

you can jump out the switch as synchro has suggested by pulling the two spade plugs off the temp switch and joining them together. Fans will run immediately.

Wiring could be suspect, too. But, I have replaced both motors in my car with the more moder 308 plastic blade version offered by Superformance.

I get significantly better cooling, and the new fans draw a LOT LESS current. I also replaced the switch and all the wiring to it in the process.

Also add the foam above the radiator to improve cooling.

Last but not least, make sure your system is full of coolant and that it doesn't need to be burped of any air trapped in the hoses, a common problem.

Hi, I bridged the wires together and the fans came on rather noisily! Will require a bit of fettling in t he spring. I will remove the switch to test it and do a coolant flush at the same time!
