My 2 2013 Mercedes-Benz vehicles have blind spot sensors which use K, so I have to shut off the K on my V1 as the K will be constantly on. Even before I had blind spot sensors all the Audi A5's in the area made my V1 unusable until I figured out how to shut off the K.

I hate late model Volvo and Infinity cars as they set off the V1's laser. As do the tail lights on a Chevy Trailblazer. However, those things are mostly gone from my area.

I would recommend the WAZE app to everyone. It is pretty heavily used in my area.

I believe the laser jammers Escort uses are up to the task.

Also I'm told their units can be programmed better than the V1 in the sense you can turn off narrower bands of K that these car systems use. I still love the V1 but its really behind the times. This will only get worse as we go to more and more red light and speed cameras.

I have K40 in 3 cars for a total of 28,000 fast miles - no tickets - I hear it is bottom of the barrel but it really really works

i dont really understand this # bottom of the barrel# story as i get several k 40s with zero ticket and here in Miami leos are everywhere.
Last time in my street ( i was not speeding) a cop was hidding behind a parked car and stopped me the laser device still in his hand :) asking me if i had a laser jammer. i said yes and he answered let me tell you something its working fine because i tried a couple of time to get your speed and could not figure out anything .

And on the top of that but maybe others get the same if you get a ticket the first year K40 pays for it .
I care more about the points than the ticket .
The k40 has been professionally installed in my 360 ( not cheap ) barely noticeable and am very happy with it

invisicord.com makes harnesses that plug into the wiring that runs across the top of the windshield. Then you adapt a mount (I've used the Escort visor mounts) so that it is permanent. No wiring hangs down, and the detector is easily removed when you are parked.

Anyone have any issues with their windshield blocking their V1 from Valentine One?

I have been using the V1 with great success for years. However, with the advent of all these cars that keep the idiots in their lanes, have them avoid crashing, braking for them, etc, etc., I am getting many more false alarms as they use the same wave length (K) as speed radar.

    Saved by V1 this weekend.

Audis are a scourge riding around radiating themselve on K band.
You can shut K band off, but I have noticed more than one NYST cop still using k band.

Better get used to it--the idiots who run our government are going to mandate that lane-awareness stuff on all new cars soon. What I am wondering is if the detector manufacturers are going to be able design detectors that can distinguish the signals.

Valentine has an upgrade available that "blocks false alarms caused by K-band lane-change warning systems in some newer cars."

I haven't done it yet, but I will eventually.

If police and lane-awareness signals are on the same frequency and about the same strength when they reach my car,it would be hard to tell them apart. I just called Escort about my Redline, and the tech said that is the problem. He said that they are working on it,and to check back periodically.

I had mine upgraded. Many fewer false alarms from other cars and I have not noticed any radar that I was not alerted to. It took a couple of weeks from mailing it out to getting it back.
