For 488 owners with the CF race seats: strictly in terms of padding and comfort, do you prefer Goldrake or Daytona seat covers? Aesthetically, I agree with most that the Goldrake looks better (just my opinion) in a 488... but shopping for the exact spec I want is proving to be frustrating. There are so few racing seat equipped 488s on the market that I may have to compromise on one spec or another

I’m 6’4, 265 lbs and race seats are necessary for me to fit in the car. I found the Goldrake seat to be comfortable... but (having read a relevant FChat thread!) I’m a little worried that the Daytona cover on that same seat might be less padded.

Thanks in advance for your help/thoughts!

We’re about the same size. I’m 6’6” 265lbs. Not many dudes like us own cars like these. Like I have always said, if you want something bad enough, you figure out a way to make it work. I have Daytona Racing Seats in my 812, and they’re incredibly comfortable.

Anyone else have a review of their 488 race seats with Daytona covers?

Sat in a Pista w the Daytona covers, felt like my butt was on a grille. I have the Goldrake in my 458 and they are definitely more comfortable. I'm 5" shorter and 110 lbs lighter than you though...

I was told the opposite, that the Daytona style sections add more padding on the CF seats.

Its probably much of a muchness though.

I have the Goldrake seats and from what I read on this forum it was comfortable. I don't really feel they are too comfortable. It has a really firm padding. Maybe its the daytona racing seats are the comfortable ones everyone is talking about. Then again some prefer firm over softer cushion.

This reminds me of the story The Princess and the Pea. :p

The carbon fiber seats are definitely not as padded as the "regular" seats, but I still find them very comfortable. I've not experienced much of a difference between goldrake and Daytona for the same CF seats, though admittedly I've never critically sat and compared the two.

I have the Daytona race seats and really like them. The seats are firm but very comfortable without any issues during/after a long drive. I agree with you, aesthetically, I like the goldrake but I don’t think you can go wrong with either choice.
