Cool, sounds promising. Good chance Aston Martin will keep it's 3rd place in the Constructor's Title chase.
That is focused on selling cars and commercial brand focus. The Aston team is a marketing platform sideshow as a rolling advert. Marketing basics in action. Stroll will sell to Daimler at some point
Daimler-Benz trying to have a foot on each side of the EU-UK divide after Brexit isn't stupid. The cooperation between the 2 brands may potentially lead to some Mercs road cars being manufactured/assembled in UK to circumvent punitive tariffs. I doubt that Aston Martin will ever enter the mass-market, but partly-owned by DB, they could offer a platform for Mercedes manufacturing in Britain.
So, a way for MERCs to be manufactured in Britain, and a way to use the excess plant capacity of Aston.
The Merc B team beats the A team in the previous year's car by 5 seconds. Oops. Some dark clouds in Stuttgart's boardroom. Well done Racing Point. The team is clearly on the up and coming. And if the drivers manage to do well tomorrow the third WCC place might really come their way.
People may start to take notice of Racing Point, with good performance from both drivers. It may become one of the 3 top teams next year, as Aston Martin.
This could happen. Or not. I have written off Renault in the past and this year they're finally doing pretty well. Others have written off McLaren and they too have a good season. Then there is Ferrari, which just collapsed. Red Bull might collapse come 2022 or they find a motor and keep Max. Hard to predict, these things are in flux and that's a good thing.
McLaren will have a big success next year on a number of factors. Possibly right behind Mercedes in points.
Personally I think for Racing Point to ditch Perez for next year is a mistake. Sergio is delivering good, solid performances and would complement Lance perfectly. I'm not so sure where Vettel is right now, or if he will bring much added value to the team.
McLaren could be Aston's main rival if their chassis adapts to the Mercedes PU. They have a better technical team, with Seidl as principal bringing plenty of experience, as already seen. They will have a nice pairing too. Ricciardo has shown this year that he is still a top driver.
I'm getting that feeling too. Perez is driving superbly and keeps Lance honest on where he stands in his development. If Vettel continues with his miserable performances next year and Lance beats him, the team won't know what the car is really capable of. OTOH having Vettel on board might teach Lance a few tricks and Seb is definitely a great ambassador for the Aston Martin brand. A four times WDC is able to sell cars, whereas Lance and Checko are complete unknowns from a PR perspective.
Oh fantastic, a comment by proven liar Mr. Toaster man. Your post wins the Necromancer card of the month, bravo.
Id like to thank the Academy, my producer, FerrariChat Moderators and of course Andreas- Tifosi12 for his never ending support. During these 'turbulent' times, his support along with many Stroll 'detractors' are the pillars of my endurance.
You forgot to thank your parents, your wife and your children. And Eddie Jordan And to be in step with 2020 nomenclature: the times are not turbulent but unprecedented (ok, there I said it, have a sip now and cross that off your 2020 Bingo card) And for our more recent contributors here is a pop quiz: Why did I call Windsor Mr. Toaster man? The correct answer will win you a trip to Nashville. Or not.
Can’t wait to see how this pans out but can’t see more than a fine for Stroll as judges won’t want to compromise Aston’s future too much https://www.planetf1.com/news/racing-point-mazepin-stroll-court/
