Im trying to find some racing seat belts/harness, propperly 4 point, for my 348, for trackday use.

What kinda harness/belt do I need, and how do I install it? I dont have a harness bar..

Any recomendations and pictures would be great!

btw i want to keep the stock seat for now, as it still sees some raod use

For me there is a fundamental flaw in the stock seat and seat belt mounts. The seat is attached by 2 small vertical bolts at the rear and 2 small horizontal bolts at front. The belt is bolted to the rear of the seat by large standard sized bolts, but these still depend on the smaller ones!
When I saw this it just didn't add up. I was willing to take the risk on the road with this set up but not a track.

I put a harness bar in from QV, this bolts into the top seat belt mounts. I mounted the lower harness bolts independently of the seats through a reinforced floor mount.
Mind you I also put in race seats, putting the others into storage for later. The mounting wasn't easy. bottom mounts didn't give me enough head room with a helmet. side mounts did but were a tight fit on the drivers side with the handbrake in the way. Removing the handbrake covers sorted the problem.

I have seen a harness and original belts fitted together giving you a choice, in an ex challeneg car. but again needed some jiggery pockerry. Good luck with it.

If you can find challenge mounts. There also a pair of eye hooks on the floor. Sabelt makes a nice 2 in. 4 point restraint with clip ends and push button buckle. Same as the one used in the enzo, but cheaper. Can be used with regular seats. I have since replaced the drivers seat with an OMP race seat, but my wife won't let me put one in the passenger side. For those that will disagree with the 4 point harness, I do have a 6 point harness for track days.

If interested I can take better pictures of the set up.

They are Sabelt harnesses. Check there web site. I bought mine from a local race supply shop. They special ordered them with clip ends on all 4 points from Italy. $115USD I think per set. Sabelt did have multiple options for attachment.

The shop had just ordered the exact same ones for Lake Forest Sports Car (local F-car dealer) to install in a customers Enzo. I was told they were OEM option for Euro Enzo's. The only difference is they had FERRARI on the shoulder belt and a horse on the buckle. Cost $250USD per set.

+ 1 - and i bet a lot safer too - hjaving been rear ended bloody hard and had the MB written off by it, you can all trust me on this - the head rest quality, positioning and passive restraint system can change your life forever... or not.

I bet headrests are the most overloooked pieces of automotive design. W140's are good, but not enough headroom. 55o very good on headroom, never crashed it though to know about the headrest..

    Nevertheless, onwards...
