From what I can gather, it seems he was the first Canadian dealer. In the Hillary Raab serial number book, authorised dealers were listed as bold-type and private individuals were in normal type. George's name was always listed in bold. First car listed under his name was a 330 GT 2+2, S/N: 8903 (circa 1966).
Got this from the archives of the club: (His best line has to be: "Without Ferrari, Formula 1 is nothing") [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MkyTFAscbI]Luigi Della Grotta Ferrari Dealership memories - Part 1 of 4 - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnDvBY9Fksg]Luigi Della Grotta Ferrari Dealership memories - Part 2 of 4 - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8bhQc9l8No]Luigi Della Grotta Ferrari Dealership memories - Part 3 of 4 - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHzF-5bShC4]Luigi Della Grotta Ferrari Dealership memories - Part 4 of 4 - YouTube[/ame]
Special thanks to Bernardo for helping me obtain more great Luigi Footage: http://youtu.be/39iWk1jsEBw http://youtu.be/9yJ2JU77H5A
The good old days when our hair had color.....even Luigi (altough I challenge the legitimacy of his in that pic) LOL
Unfortunately, Grey, is Not a part of the Color Spectrum & it is truly the mixing of white & black. But neither White Nor Black are considered to be colors. Because gray cannot be refracted from pure light, it's only a tone, not a colour. Tomorrow we will have a lesson on the definition of a "Targa" top, LOL!!!!
Not quite the Luigi of this thread, but I thought this was a cheeky way to keep this alive. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So would it be considered inappropriate to put a Luigi decal on my car if it was originally sold by him? (Not sure if it was ever serviced by him). Thanks for all who added photos and stories, I enjoyed reading them.
Yes I would imagine it would be impossible to find an original, I would have to get one made. Do you happen to know if the sticker was affixed to every new car he sold or was it only on vehicles after they returned for service?
I saw a box full lately in my previous role as VP of the Luigi club but I am sworn to secrecy and don't imagine one could be handed out under any circumstance.
