question on 812 GTS retractable top

You can’t tell in the video but there was a guy crouched down near pedal box holding the switch to convert.

 

Mods4cars makes a module for convertibles that you can remotely lower roof, it's model specific, they've done for Ferrari's but not sure if capable with 812 GTS. Called smarttop

 

Totally unrelated but I have a question regarding Ferraris with folding roofs... When they say the roof can be retracted at a speed of up to 40km/hr, what happens if you floor it while opening the roof? Will the car refuse to go above 40km/hr? Or will the roof stop moving (which would be the worst idea IMO)? Or will it continue to fold and the 40km/hr limit is only for you to start the process?

 

I cannot answer as I never tried. I always try to operate the roof while stopped after a bad experience with my then brand new GTS which I opened while driving gently at small speed and got a whole bunch of noises and gremlins afterwards…

It took a while for my dealer to fix the roof and it is not 100% perfect.

 

I have heard of someone whos roof went out of line because they had not waited until it was closed before going faster than 30 mph

 

Bump on this thread. Anybody get this for the 812 GTS ?

 

It literally just stopped in the middle of motion. not fun. It will block all your rear view.
