Greetings all, 3 hours and a bit to go. Looks like Lewis is the man to beat today, I can't see a flaw in his game here, Kimi has the best chance to upset that though. There's gonna be a huge repair bill for the teams if it rains.
Where I'm at (about 10 mins from Monaco) it's raining quite a bit...judging from the TV images it's not raining quite as hard there (practice session just began). However, from what I can see, the clouds seem to be moving towards MC. This will be interesting... Forza Ferrari.
Kovalainen just spun out, hit the guardrails and broke the rear wheel (still in the practice session obviously)...
For those suffering without TV coverage of Formula One, here's a link to the ITV player remote host that should work. I pulled it from the thread for the last race and added it to my favorites, so thanks go to someone else. http://mad-max.runhost.net/f1player.html >8^) ER
Hi, Florian I would love to drive your Celica round Monaco, always loved that car but never bought one..
Heikki Kovalainen set the pace in a rain-affected final practice session in Monaco but blotted his copybook by crashing his McLaren shortly after moving to the top of the timing charts. Morning rain had left the track damp when the session began, but it dried enough for Kovalainen to lap within 1.5s of team-mate Lewis Hamiltons Thursday benchmark by the 25-minute mark. Another light shower then coated the surface and prevented any further improvement in lap times in the second half of the session, leaving Kovalainen at the top of the pile from Hamilton and Ferrari standard-bearer Kimi Raikkonen.
I think you will see many teams going out very light to try for poll. With rain tomorrow there will most certainly be a safety car or 10. Dont be surprised if some go out with less than 10 laps of fuel maybe even 5.
Same goes for your 360 Steve, let's trade our cars! The Celica is a great car, although it's virtually impossible to get ANY parts, there's no such thing like 'Toyota Classiche', and with less than 100 of the first Celicas in Germany, it's really hard to get anything. But the car drives GREAT, looks awesome, I get so many thumbs up on the street (and has tripled its value since I bought it ), so who am I to complain? @topic: Sun is shining! I agree with Franco, cars will be VERY light. Nothing needed more than a pole if you want to win!
Great stuff mate, I lost money on every car i've had bar one.. I think Just watch Martin brundle driving aclassic McLaren from the 1970s, Emerson Fittipaldi’s 1974 world title-winning McLaren M23. So good that car loved those times, so dangerous though.
Nevertheless, thanks Erik, nice to have. Morning/Afternoon/Evening all. Steve, your countryman is looking very good. Unfortunately.
It was when that happened earlier in the morning. The sun came out. The circuit is now dry. This is going to be interesting...the qualifying will take place in dry conditions but the race will most likely be a wet one and the teams can't change their set-up between the qualifying session and the race from what I understand (right?). I'm guessing most will choose a 'wet' set-up as choosing a 'dry' one would compromise the race.
