For those without a lift who have used floor jacks to get your 458 onto stands, what is the best approach?

    1. Use 2 jacks and lift the front lift points, slide stands under the front, then use the outer 2 rear jack points to lift the car, then slide stands under the inner cutouts in the undertray.
    2. Jack one side of the car at a time, slide stands under the front and rear points, then repeat with the other side.
    3. Some other way.

I used method # 2 countless times with my 355 and it was fine. Thanks

This was timely. I have a quickjack I used for my 430 but the 458 looks like its a lot lower to the ground. I can't even see where the jack points are on the 458. Anyone have an illustration?

I only found the two jackpoints about a foot in from the side and a foot ahead of the rear wheel opening. I had to drive the rears onto some scrap 2x8 to get my floor jack under the car. There's alot of shaped plastic under the car so it's tough to find a hard point. I was only changing a flat tire so never found another set of hard points for stands :(

    Race ramps work well!

Hope this is of use. Was shared here previously and I saved it down, so cannot take credit, but equally no recall of the poster name to give credit either.

Thank you but I have the workshop manual. I am specifically interested in putting the car up on jackstands using floor jacks. I do not have a 2-post lift, a 4-post lift or race ramps. I need the car on jackstands with the wheels off since I plan on bleeding brakes along with other fluids.

I have put my 458 on 4 jack stands a number of times. I used a single low profile jack. Jacked the car up and put the stands under the jack points.

Here is a pick. There is enough space at the jack point areas to fit the jack and then to lower it onto the stands.

    I do a corner at a time.

    Hi Mick,

I also found that there is enough room and strength along the main frame rails (draw an imaginary line roughly between the front and rear brake discs) to jack the car a few inches back from the front jack points and a few inches in front of the rear wheel well to slide in your stands.

If you do this and place your rear jack stands like my picture, you can remove the massive undertray without having to lower the car and raise it again.

When you jack corner by corner, do you do one side first or front/back first?

Correction: For the rear, I positioned the jack a few inches in front of the jack point shown in the photo, not the rear wheel well.
