Hurray. Just learned of this via Ferrari, sorry if this is a repost. "We've tested several options, it was clear that the V12, for the performance and driving experience it could provide, was the right option for the market," Vigna said.
pretty lame on Ferrari to advertise this as “uncompromising” and “unmistakably Ferrari” when it is going in a ****ing SUV!
HOW MANY threads do we need for the upcoming FUV? There must be at least five now....... Come on, guys, don't you have eyes, read and scroll. No need for new threads every day......... Marcel Massini
it is true though if out of 250 new threads posted on FerrariChat a day you actually complain about one that is discussing a recent Ferrari press release. neither you or I may be a fan of the SUV, but this is FerrariChat not NoChat.

Ferrari Announces New V12 Engine For A "Game-Changing" Model Could this V12 engine be for the Purosangue SUV or another supercar entirely? https://www.motor1.com/news/583802/ferrari-new-v12-purosangue-suv/ .
I finally figured out where the name Purosangue came from - it's a combination of the words 'purist' and 'anguish'. Why Ferrari, why????
They will start with the V12 and then migrate to the hybrid V6. Does anyone know what the v12 will cost?
I kinda dig thy are doing this. Everyone else has a v8 in theirs. I think the last v12 suv was the Lambo LM002. But that was when suv didn’t just mean larger car.
Ferrari are very very good at targeting a market. The V12 will distinguish them from the other SUVs. Like the Lusso a second engine option will come along if they see a market at a lower price entry point.
I hate Ferrari is doing a SUV, they all basically look the same from $40k-$300k. Ferrari putting a V12 in it is one good thing. FF/Lusso owners are loving the SUV, it took this to get the ugly attention off them.
What a waste. Ferrari are limited on how many V12's they can make both from a fleet co2 average standpoint and from a production standpoint. Nobody buying an SUV cares about the driving experience, they would buy regardless of power plant. They should be using those engines for other projects that would sell the car on the merits of it's engine. A mid engined V12 manual would break the internet and I suspect many here would be selling all of their life's possessions to get one.
And the Bentley Bentayga Speed with a W12. If Ferrari has invested resources in a new V12 that meets the strict current rules, it will certainly be used for a long time in more models besides the PS. Perhaps Ferrari will use its "extra quota" of V12 until it launches the successor to the 812. Then the PS would be offered with another engine, freeing up the amount of V12 for the successor to the 812, SP4, ...
For sure. I only mentioned the Bentayga to complete the list of the 12 cylinders. But it has no comparison with the V12 Ferrari.
I don't see that a Bentley or Merc purchaser will care or will see the difference between a turbo V12 and NA V12.
Well if they are enthusiastic about production cars and engines, yes actually they will? A naturally aspirated V12 in an FUV is an INSTANT differentiator and uniquely so, and an instant attractor to the brand. In fact it may persuade other marque purchasers to Ferrari? It makes absolute commercial and buisness sense.
I was just offered a V12 Purosangue allocation from my dealer and they are telling me it's a limited series production. I guess they are offering the V12 version for a limited time, kill it and come out with a V8 and full electric version later?
