Hey folks - in the market for a 488 spider. Saw a couple come up for sale but the mileage on them seems quite high.. we're talking around 20k KM (13k miles) for a 2018 model. What's considered high mileage for these cars? Last one I owned was around 4-5k so had no concerns.

It's so interesting to see these threads. Everyone tells you to just drive your car and don't worry about the miles. Then it seems everyone looking to buy is so worried if there are over 5k miles on a car. It's enough to make you think all the people encouraging you to put miles are your car are all the people who'll lowball you when you go to sell.

That's nothing if it's been serviced and the zen is good.

A car with good zen includes

the paint has been cared for with careful washing and drying (lack of swirls)
the sill and door cards are free of marks and scratches
    carpets and mats are perfect
the wipers are new and work properly
the leather appears well cared for
the wheels are clean and free of kerbings
no odour other than delicious leather

Look at 5 cars. Those loved and cared for are obvious.

High mileage definition depends on your primary concern.

Resale value? There are notable pricing adjustments at the 1000, 2500, 5000, 10000, and 20,000+ marks.

Reliability? I'd say it's the same as most any car you can buy these days, so that's probably why you're seeing more with mileage on them. They are no longer the frail masterpieces of the Enzo-era.

  5. I'd be more concerned with what's low mileage for a 2018 model.

For me it would be how many owners. A one owner would be preferred. Clearer information on how the car was treated.

To me the cars condition and service records are more important. 5k or 10k miles whatever is less concerning about the reliability of the car. These cars are no where near being used up at these low miles.
It's hilarious that people think a Ferrari is used up at 10k miles. I'd rather get a car driven 2k miles a year/ driven every week than a car driven 500 miles a year and sits for months and months.

Yes low owners and condition is what counts
    13k miles isn’t high for a 2018
I’d say 30k miles or above is considered high . On any other car that 7 years old 30k would be low . You not enjoying it if your going let it sit there tho . I suppose 3k miles a year is probably what should be on these cars so 13k is low
