    It looks like the long wait is nearly over -- Sony will begin restoring PlayStation Network services around the world over the next 24 hours. A new PS3 firmware update is already available and will be required to connect to the network when it finally does come back online in your location (SCEA is maintaing a service map for U.S. users here).

    I can confirm that I downloaded the patch, but have as yet been unable to log into the PSN.

    did the patch but no luck yet on getting onto network. I cannot get my password changed or at least have not figured it out.

    Log into the psn network with the old password it will ask you to change that password to a new one and then let you in :)

    I DL'ed the firmware last night, changed my PW, but couldn't get on. I kept getting a message like "PSN is undergoing maintenance".


    But now, no problems.
