In all the 458s pictures i have seen people posting here, the bottom button in the center console phlange thingie says "LAUNCH". The manual even says "LAUNCH" there, but mine says "PS". When I took delivery of the car, they said this button was launch control (i was secretly hoping it might have been like "Passenger Spew", and then the passenger is ejected out, but apparently not.)

This thread: PS button - FerrariChat.com also seems to suggest it is indeed launch control. I have still not pressed it despite understanding the purpose. But, on to the questions...:

    * is the action taken by "PS" any different from the action taken by "LAUNCH"? (new, old system?)

    * does anyone else have a US model speciale which has a "PS" button instead of launch?

    * any ideas why it might be one or the other?

    * i don't really care what the button says (so long as it does what i think it does) -- but in 500+ years when i decide to sell it, will other people care about it saying PS?

    thanks for any input!

This is correct, I was told they changed for the US for "legal" purposes.

Sorry revive an old thread (I’m not but I see everyone else saying that). Just got my f12 and as much as I thought I know everything about cars I thought it’s park at first. So start with neutral go to 3000rpm and hit the Lunch button and pizzas come out of the engine?

does this abuse the transmission or clutch in any way?
