Problem with my Ferrari 488 AVH System / Parking Brake

    Just picked up a 2018 Ferrari 488 GTB and loving the car so far but let it sit for just one night in the garage without the battery tender and the next day started it up and got a AVH error and parking brake error. Car was stuck in park even when I put it in reverse etc. Let it warm up then restarted it and it allowed me to come out of park. Figured it was maybe the original OEM battery so I got one of those Braille batteries that everyone here swears by and took it to the dealer. Will keep folks posted in case they have same issue.

    Documenting it on video as well.

    I think i need to keep a good battery charge. Went away when batter voltage was restored.

    AntiGravity sells a battery monitor that may work with your Braille such that you could monitor the charge level and cranking voltage via an app. There's a different monitor depending if regular battery or Li Ion.

    Awesome 488 spec by the way, Will. Hope everything gets sorted out. Thanks for documenting everything, I always enjoy your videos.

    To be honest, after watching your 720s video from Toy Barn, I thought you would have gotten one of those next to compliment the F8. You seemed to really enjoy it and they are in line with 488 prices. What made you go with a 488 instead of the 720?

    Sounds crazy buy kick the brake pedal "quite hard"... had the same issue on mine, called a friend that works at Ferrari service and he gave me this advice... and it works. "it's just a a expensive supercar, what do you expect" he said...

    As for the 720, I have a health fear of owning any McLaren from everything I've seen about them on youtube breaking down etc.
    I was on a rally once and a guy had a brand new 720s and it broke down and locked him out of the car and he had to call mclaren to rescue his car and don't think it got fixed for him to drive home. So I have no desire to ever own a McLaren honestly.

    But I am LOVING the 488.

    My 488 lives with a fresh battery in it and on a trickle at all times and even still I get that error once and blue moon. A simple restart clears it. Congrats and enjoy car!
