I hope this car finds a great new home. Very sorry to see the current owner parting with it. I guess it wasn't black enough? ;)

The picture I found most interesting was the one below. For starters, I had not noticed before that US F50s have inboard mounted shoulder restraints. What's interesting about the photo though are the straps intended to hold the temporary soft top in place when stored. It sure looks like there'd no longer be room for it to fit with the seatbelt tensioners taking up some of that space. Did the US cars even come with the temporary top and if so, did it still fit there? Otherwise having the straps seems a bit abnormal I guess?

Beautiful car! I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I saw that you mentioned size 9 shoes? What relevance do shoes have with the car?

There are very few stupid questions. :)

F50s came from the factory with a set of driving shoes. Some of them have not stayed with the cars from what I have read. Not sure I'd want someone elses sweaty shoes myself. :D

Here's some photos taken from here.

Interesting observation as thus far I have only ever seen European cars with soft tops deployed.

It is a complete open system from headers to tips and accordingly the sound is quite phenomenal. But its a very 'tuned' V12 sound on open throttle, not just big noise. Naturally upon overrun followers are entertained by a minor flame-throwing display, something which I can personally attest to having seen!

If I remember correctly the soft top can be stored there temporarily.

Your observation is correct. The temporary roof system can't be stored in that spot as it is with Euro cars. There would be nowhere else in the car that it would fit either. The photos show the temporary roof system and the capote bag it comes in.

The seat belts are only one of a large number of detail differences between USA and Euro cars. These details can be clearly deduced from the spare parts manual and have been discussed a number of times before if anyone wants to perform a search.

I pulled up the .PDF of the USA F50 owner's manual and indeed they reference the soft top being stored there. See the first image below.

When compared to a similar image sourced from the F50 owner's manual for the rest of the world, it's almost laughable the scale difference of the two drawings of the collapsed roof shown in that same spot.

From your photo, it does appear to be somewhere in between the two in actual size, but I agree with you that it doesn't seem like it would fit there on a US car at all. Any US owners know different?

It's really okay though. Not being able to bring along the soft top is just one more reason to leave the hardtop on all the time, which is what I'd do with mine anyway.

Maybe the USA versions get a baby roof system ;)

I can't see it fitting in that spot and as it is reasonably heavy, would it be stable balanced like that?

If you compare Joe's photo to the drawing in the USA manual you can see the housing for the seatbelt mechanisms is also a couple of inches taller in real life than they depicted as well.
