    Hi Folks,
I've a 14 Cali with 9000 miles on it,still under factory warranty till April 2017. I'm considering buying an extended warranty on it after the factory warranty expires.

Can you please shed some light on what kind of extended factory warranties are available and what the costs are. Do all the dealers charge the same price or does it vary from dealer to dealer.

    Thanks

I got mine from Steve in Dallas back in July -- SAFE4NOW is his handle here. His pricing is as good as it gets, in my experience.

I paid $4500 for one year. If I remember correctly, the dealer told me that their cost was about $2600 or $2800, and technically they can ask whatever they want after that. Extended warranty is not all the same as factory warranty, I remember that they have different levels, make sure you ask before purchasing.

Thank you all for your input, by extended warranty I mean the extended warranty by Ferrari and not a third party. Can I buy from any Ferrari dealer in the country?
    Thanks

This is what everyone is telling you in their post, all the comments above are stating that the warranties were purchased through Ferrari and not a third party administrator. You can purchase the warranty through any Ferrari dealer as long as it meets the criterias. The link posted by mholifield will clarify it in further details. Good luck

Extending the factory warranty is what you want for your 2014 ... bumper to bumper for one or two more years. Be aware that you can only do one or the other ... you cannot extend the factory warranty for one more year and then buy a second year later, it's now or never for both years. If you are planning to keep the car for more than one more year, it's a no-brainer, I think ... covers everything and will help with resale down the road. You have to do it while your car is still under warranty and the best time to do it is when you perform the free maintenance service which will be due right around the time the original warranty expires.

After the extended bumper to bumper warranty expires, you can buy the New Power warranty. That covers a lot of major components, but not everything that the original warranty covered.

Here's that PDF for the New Power warranty.

    4+5th year warranty extension:
    1 Year $6,300.00
    2 Years $9,900.00

    New Power Warranty
    $4,500 per year
2nd year of New Power Warranty COULD result in $375 discount for renewal as well as another $375 discount if you had no warranty claims in the previous year.

There is an inspection checklist that goes along with the above.

I can assure you that New Power Warranty " cost " is not $2,600 or $2,800 , but you are correct that Dealerships are free to charge what they want, some charge over MSRP.
I personally charge $250.00 off each year for Ferrari Club of America members or FerrariChat members, in addition to any other discounts available.

You may, but you still have to meet all the requirements, up to and including annual service and the check list must be performed at a Ferrari Dealership.

    LMK if I can help,

Thank you, this helps out a lot. Why does The power warranty for the 5th year onwards costs almost the same as the 4th and 5th year extension of the factory warranty yet it does not cover as much.

Please keep in mind that the 'power' or 'cube' warrantees do not cover leaks or seals. See the brochure starting at page 17 and read carefully. The engine, trans/diff, oil and coolant systems are not covered for seals or leaks. I have never owned a car that did not eventually have one or all of those. A terrible warrantee for the price IMO. The full factory extension for 2 more years is what I chose. Much more expensive for a V12 though but any and every issue is covered the same as if you just picked up your car when new. Hope this helps.

Warranty Extension is $6,300 per year ( 1 year )
New Power Warranty is $4,500 , almost $2,000 less.

So I'm not sure the cost are that close, when you allow for the discounts, its even less at $3,750 per year.

    FWIW

Currently, there are only 2 warranty options past the org 3 year factory warranty
( Power Cube, Powertrain, etc are no more )
    Factory Warranty Extension ( Years 4 + 5 )
    New Power Warranty ( Years 6-12 )

I always strongly suggest the warranty extension like you did for 2 years, that "extended health insurance " for your Ferrari , piece of mind, goes along way!

Agreed. Can you imagine the cost of opening up the differential or engine to replace leaking seals? One leak and its paid for. Or something stupid like a plastic knob. I had a knob on the rear hatch sunshade on my F12 that had a small crack in it. It took months to replace because the entire sunshade panel had to be replaced as the knob was not individually sourced. That means they had to match the alcantara material and color. Its all included in the extension but not in any of the other warrantees. Don't know why you would spend nearly a half million on an exotic that you want to keep and not extend the factory warrantee. Flippers are a different story which is why you see so many cars for sale will a year or less on the warrantee. Can't wait to see the new twin turbos trying to sell with no warrantee left. Tens of thousands of RPM at a thousand degrees. No thanks.
