Hi All, Hoping some members can recommend some vehicle inspections places who do a good job in the Melbourne area. I'm about to purchase a 2000 model 360 Modena and would like to make sure the vehicle is thoroughly inspected prior to purchase. The only people I can think of are: www.stateroads.com.au http://www.vipinspections.com/ Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
How about ferrarifixer? He will take a really good look at it for you. He can be contacted here, via PM. But he will be here very very shortly to respond to this post.
BTW..........my friend had a piss poor inspection done for him by VIP over in Perth on his Nissan Skyline. That does not mean that they are the same Australia wide. They have nothing to gain in doing these inspections, yet they still give you BS inspections. Well, that guy over in Perth did. Id rather check the car over personally. As I did with my 348. The way to do it is, fly to where the car is. Organise to have the PPI done while you are present, or waiting for the car outside ect...then go from there. The cost of the flight and hotel ect....will favour you as you have seen the car in person and know if you want it or not. No good paying for it, then getting it and then getting upset about it, as they wont give you your money back. Do that, if possible.
I was gonna PM ya, but you got it turned off. Where you planning to service it? There are quite a few individual mechanics you can go to. Have your PM on, i'll send you some details of what you need.
In alphabetical order: John Allan (CARLTON) Phil Hughes (RICHMOND) Graham Vincent (MORNINGTON?) Be prepared to pay a decent fee for the service. You just can't do a PPI that covers everything in a few hours (say $300 odd).
Maybe after a PPI you should get a PP EYE, that's where PP will run his eye over the report and correct everything that is wrong. Or maybe a PPII, that's where he does the same, but dressed as a pirate.
That sounds like a great idea! We will get PP to team up with 'devil eye' from ages ago and they can do PP Eye's!. Ha!!
you can use the Ferrari club website contacts.. http://www.fcavic.com.au/repairs.htm there's also John Allan and Sandro Terzini who don't have links on the site but are both in Melbourne
Its not the red manual with 13,000 on the clock is it? i went in on saturday to have a look at that very car... very clean example of an early car
Hi All Just wondering after 4.5 years whether the previous listed contacts in Melbourne to do a PPI are still current? Any update would be appreciated. I am looking at arranging a PPI on a F355 spider listed at Lorbeks. Cheers
http://pless.com.au/mechanics.htm I'd go here:- http://www.blackstallionmotors.com.au/bsm_contactus.html They've done extensive work on 355s....including full mechanical and suspension rebuilds...one of the cars was mine. Ask for Tim. He's a top bloke and very straight and down to earth. Image Unavailable, Please Login
p.s. it's important to find someone who'll tell what they'd REALLY do if it was their car, not someone who'll tell you "you could do this, you could do that....and it'll cost you a mint" and "while we're in there, we may as well do this and that"....which doesn't need doing and again costs you a mint. The wrong mechanic will make your ownership experience a nightmare.
right. *shakes head* What a pity that thread was deleted about Moretti's PPI...that was an eye opener for anyone....even me....and I'm not easily shocked.
