Nice car - got some pics lying around here somewhere of it in the main street of Bowral and driven around by Rod. nice guy.. many a nice chat with him.
Not the same cars, I think - I last saw Les Millers 250PFC(black?)about 8 years ago, when his wife did a run to the local shops for sandwiches for the guys in the workshop! The other cars were owned by Bob Miller, the yacht designer - later changed his name to Ben Lexcen. I worked for him in 1973/74, on the first of the Alan Bond 12 metres (Southern Cross). The PF was metallic red, Borranis, drum brakes. I think he swapped it (and some cash, no doubt) for a red 275 (think it was a 3carb, pre torque tube, cant remember the wheels), that he bent in the carpark of Wahringah Mall at , maybe the end of 1973. He asked me to produce a manufacturing drawing for a new lower wishbone, which I did on my own time. It may have been made by Byron Aviation, who were making parts for the 12 metre at the time.
Hi Rob, Nope had nothing to do with Apollo, cant remember if it was before or after the 12metre - I think she won a Sydney to Hobart though.
