Hi. I’m looking for a reliable and competent mechanic/shop in the Sacramento area to do a PPI on a 488 Spider. Your recommendation is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I do not know if either is willing to do PPIs but I have heard very good things about these two shops: Salerno Motorsports (in Rocklin @ 916-652-0496) and Stewart's Automotive (in Sacramento 2 916-731-7023).

I can vouch for Salerno, they did the PPI on my 456M.
Talk to Chuck Salerno, a straight shooter and all-around nice guy.

Another vote for Salerno. I hardly drive my car and do most of my own work but Ben Salerno has helped me out a few times when I couldn't figure something out (e.g., car overheating, AC recharge, new accumulator). The whole Salerno family is extremely nice. A family friend recently purchased a Maserati from Chuck Salerno and the friend can't get the grin off his face because he is so excited about his new sled. He said it was a great buying experience.

So do you think really need a PPI on a newer 488 model? Still under manu warranty right? Just wondering...maybe looking for neglect or damages not covered or ?

I wouldn’t buy a used Ferrari without a PPI, regardless of age.

Not sure you bought your Ferrari yet but i paid dearly trusting Ferrari dealership in northern California, I bought an extended warranty for 2018 488GTB and less than a month later the car has oil leaks and stranded.

their 101 inspection points are joke , they have no idea what they are doing.

I can elaborate more , try to find skilled mechanic and don’t trust the dealerships.
