Considering purchase of a 360 in Los Angeles. Any recommendations for a PPI? Thanks for any advice.
Where specifically in Los Angeles? I'd recommend either Calabasas luxury motorcars (ask for Damian) or perhaps F&M Motorsport in West LA or Foreign Sport Technicians in Santa Monica. I don't know for certain if Ferrari Beverly Hills or Ferrari Los Angeles (in Van Nuys) do PPI's or not.
I'll second that. Lots of good guys in LA, but the OP's "Los Angeles" location really needs to be narrowed down a little as some of these guys can still be 100 miles from the car.
I will say .. Beverly Hills Ferrari, IMO .. is the worst ! Poor customer care. Famously overpriced. A total waste of time.
I am also in need of a PPI in the LA area, the car is in Anaheim area. Any recommendations in that area for a PPI? Thanks
I may have to go to Anaheim Tuesday, is the car at a dealer? I could take a quick look at it for you.
Larry Englehart at Ferrari Tech has done all my Ferrari service since 2006. I recently heard from others that Larry will be retiring this year. I spoke to Larry personally today, he has no plans to retire at least for 3 years. That comes as a deep relief to me, I am sure others are relieved to know Larry can continue his top work for them as well.
Randy at RMT is great. He has taken care of my 612 for years. If you search prior threads in this section you will find lots of people speak highly of him. That said Craig at Fast Times (Calder1) who responded to your thread also has an excellent reputation. You couldn’t do better than those 2 choices.
This thread is from 2015, I passed on the car as it had lots of issues that Randy refused to admit existed. They weren't huge issues, but the price was too high for the issues the car had and he wouldn't move on the price. Then again, I believe it was a consignment car so maybe he had no say on the price.
Sorry, Jim, I had not noticed that since it had been revived by a prior poster. But when you say “Randy” are you referring to Randy at RMT? It sounds like you were dealing with a car salesman. Randy at RMT is a mechanic, not a car salesman. I have to say in the 5 years I have been going to Randy as a mechanic I couldn’t be more happy and when I first went to him he addressed a smog issue that the local Ferrari dealer was unable to find the root of the problem.
