I have a client who is moving to London, Ontario.............

Where could he go to get a 911/964/993 serviced competently ? I heard of a place called FANSHAWE MOTORS......can anyone here speak about them, or suggest any place else ? I posted this on Rennlist as well......FWIW.

Thanks in advance for any and all replies !!!

    no idea.

PFAFF and dt porsche both told me that there is no real porsche mechanics in London?

FWIW, i'm there for school(Western), and i've brought my car(slk 350) to the Mercedes dealership in London on 2 occasions the past years. The dealership sucks bullocks, and have taken my car out on a 'test drive' where the car returned in 'Sport mode' when i keep it on 'Comfort'. Similarly, when i had an A4 during freshman, the Audi/VW dealership there(Dalmar Motors) treated me with suspicion the minute i stepped in.

To be totally honest, London doesn't have many exotics, although i've seen the odd ferrari here and there. i still wonder where they actually get serviced...

I'm sure your client cars about their car as much as you would, best not to play russian roulette by the sounds of it in London, its only 2 hours to Pfaff in Woodbridge or Downtown Fine Cars in downtown Toronto.

I can't believe you have to go from London to Toronto to get your Porsche serviced properly. There has to be someone local - without a huge presence maybe, but known to the locals 'in the know'.

My recommendation would be to contact the Upper Canada section of the Porsche Club of America and see if they would recommend anyone to your client.

True. There has got to be a Porsche guy closer by. Of course DFC and Pfaff will say "their aint no other places to service".

A little bird once told me that a certain dealer in London is bidding to have a Porsche dealership there. This little bird also used to run a Porsche dealer. So he is kinda of a smart bird. So it seems. Time will tell.

Keith, i'll try and get back to you on your original question.

I agree with you guys and think he should truck it to TO as well....or drive it.....but still....London is big enough....there's gotta be someone who works on the older stuff....thanks for the replies regardless !!

I used to have a Porsche 993 C4, and London was the closest city to me. Leavens VW (been around about 50 years) did brakes all around plus some other service. Top notch job. Down to earth guys....try not to come off as a pompous UWO 'Toronto student',,,go there one morning just after you rolled out of bed.

    Good luck.

just to clarify, on one of the occasions i rolled into the mercedes dealership in between classes, i didn't have the time to act pompous, i just wanted to get a warning light fixed. The reason i say the dealership is not that great is because they treated me with suspicion the minute i stepped in and they took my car our for a test drive without my consent. Things inside were definitely shifted around, and my parking pass that used to be on the dash ended up on the floor. i suspect he was 'launching' it?

but at least the original poster learned of Leaven's VW with a positive review.
