Anybody here have this? I've been to the local specialists, and they tell me it will go away on it's own. I've been in terrible pain now for almost 2 yrs. I was on Prednizone for about a year, and it actually stopped the pain, but they said I could not stay on it any more. Now I'm on nsaids that don't help much. This is not good, it's all I can do to get out of my 308 GTS, so this has to stop.

    Not a Doc, but . . .

My understanding is it can take up to three years to recover.

    Hang in there!

Polymyalgia is a serious autoimmune disease, and can cause blindness and strokes...

You need to be under the care of a rheumatologist... It does not just go away...

If you mean fibromyalgia... That's a whole different issue...

Low dose prednisone might be the solution.
If 5 mg or even 2,5 mg are sufficient it will have little side effects.
From your single post it is not possible to give exact answers, even
for me as an orthopedist this is not possible.

I don't like hearing, "It'll just go away" from docs. Especially after one has been suffering for 2 years.

In my practice, that tells me the doc either had no idea what you have, or didn't want to put the time in to figure it out.

    2nd opinion time...
