It's the 308 QV for me. The wedge nose, the classic stalk based switches, the louvres above the pop up lights and in the centre are just like eye lashes .. just gorgeous. In comparison the 328 is more 80's with plastic switchgear, wierd door handles, and the larger centre louvres on the bonnet do not look as good. Also the nose has lost its aerodinamic look.

Overall I think the 308/328 is arguably the best looking car ever to be penned :) ... second best is the 355

Most people can't tell the difference between them.
But to me the 328 wins easily as it looks more modern and fresh than the 308, the 328 also appears wider and longer making it look more uniform and more dramatic look..

The 328 shares more qualities of the Boxer which I think is one of the top few Ferraris in design and perfomance ever made.

Yes, I've seen this car in person on several occasions. It has even spent the night in my garage next to my Turbo 348. It is a truely stunning car!

308 for sure. The pointy nose with a black bumper looks much more striking IMHO. I am one of the only people I have ever met that actually prefers the "pointy" shape that is a result of the U.S. front bumper. I much prefer it to the euro front bumper. Not crazy about that deep front chin spoiler. So I guess I prefer the early carbed cars. I like the lines of the GTB better but I think I would rather own (i.e.drive) a GTS for the open roof. (I own a GTB). The 328 from the back looks great, but the colored bumper in the front and the less distinctive nose ruins the classic shape.

I do like the 308s better...I think it's the black bumpers. I've somehow always felt the molded 328 bumper like like an after though...out of place for the style of the body. I don't really care for the US 308 valance, to me it dates the car. So euro 308 is about the best (I don't care US or euro for the back)...better yet if you add a GTO valance, then it's perfect.

It is clear the that original 308 is best looking of all. Not only it beat the 328 but all V8 since ( except the 288GTO and F40 ). It was designed from scratch and before the law restrictions of the late 70's and 80's and the sell numbers pressure.
The artist then still has their free hands to draw without dictation. The 328 just have some add-on. In fact, it look like the 308 aftermarket Konig. Why do you think they based their design of the 288GTO on the 308? They could change many things including the bumper but no it is there the same. I love it since the begining and finally forturnate to own one. I don't know how many hours i spent just sitting there and looking at it.

I cann't agree more. When i was young and saw the 328 I thought the owner bought some aftermarket parts and add on to the 308. I then thought to myself that it was a bad idea. The 308's are more pretty not only than the 328 but all the V8, except the 288 and F40. It was loved by most and sold in great numbers that got Ferrari where they are today.

for me... a rosso corsa 308GTS QV with black euro bumpers. Its a beautiful classic look, much the same way I prefer the bumpers on the pre '90 air-cooled Porsches.

After a slow start, 308 in the lead for the first time.

I voted for it as well.

Way to go Steven. Nice car with the seats and wheel to match. You got it going on. How do you get the engine that nice and clean? Did you recently have it restored or you regular clean it? What kind you solvent do you used?

    Patpong,

About twice a year i spend DAYS cleaning the engine with Simple Green and a toothbrush. The previous owner (Fchat member Jeff Edison) reconditioned the engine, it is up to me to maintain/improve it.

FYI: she is a DAILY driver and not a garage queen. The car does NOT melt in the rain either :)

I would go with the 328; it looks a lot more finished than the 308. The 308 bumpers look so "add on" whereas the intergrated bumpers of the 328 look almost like a Boxer...much smoother and more flowing. The interior quality also improved with the 328, although I do like the toggle switch-gear of the 308 better. Also, the 328 performance exceeds the 308 by a good margin.

Well said. Captured my sentiment exactly, those switches are high class; arguably my favorite visual cue on the car...

Here are the 5 best looking (modern) cars in my opinion:

    1. 308 QV
    2. 355 GTS
    3. Lamborghini Countach
    4. Lamborghini Diablo
    5. Jaguar XJR

edit >>>> aw hell. Can't leave the 550/575 out. And the F40 and the F50, and then, and then and then.... (someone hit me with a tranq dart please!)

I like the more classic 308. Personally I think that the only flaw in the design is the muffler area. The earlier 308 are better. Also the extra hood louvers in the QV are a destraction to the flow of the front.

If you could add the 288 GTO to the mix, I would pick that over all the others.

    Me too.

To me the most "classic" of the 308 series...is the early GTS/GTB without the rear spoiler, without the deep front spoiler, but HAVE the 16" QV wheels. Must be red/tan too. :) Euro bumpers and marker lights a plus!

I have a 308 GTB and a 328 GTS - both in Euro trim. Both stunning cars but I would have to rate the 308 as prettier, with a delicacy of line that's missing in the later car.

You see guys these are words from a guy who owns both. 308 all the way. remember the 328 is basicly a 308 with add-on's.
