I've been pretty annoyed by my K-band false notifications lately and started wondering if anyone has seen K-band used recently by any law enforcement agencies? Seems like FHP and every LEO I come across that's trying to catch speeders is using laser first, then Ka-Band.

I have already turned off X-band on my Valentine one and haven't missed it… what are your guys thoughts on K-band?

And in case there is any confusion, I do realize Ka band is still used pretty extensively and have no plans on turing that off (IE laser only).

I'm sure someone here has more information/knowledge on this than I do. :)

I am in GA and Ga State patrol and some of the counties on I-95 use KU band. I have a Bel-995 that is ok for KU band. I stay out of Florida so I have no advice there.

I too am annoyed with the falsing on my Valentine One. I have the device that connects it to the iPhone and one screen shows if the signal is false--not sure why it can't just mute those? Anyway, I hope you/we get an answer to your question from someone who knows.

PS--thinking of getting a laser shifter too

Good question, sorry, no answer. yet
I'll check with some of the guys who might know and post a value added reply if I have one.

I've had a BEL (Beltronics) STiR Plus in my California since I bought the car, it has saved me some dollars. The laser jammers I also have and they have worked great too. Great to see the look on the guy's face when I heard "front lasers firing" and there he was. You get the idea.

BTW I'm in Palm Beach county

I've noticed most police cars do not have their radar on, so they go by visual. That's how I got pulled over already once. No ticket, decent cop.
So, I now put a Lukas 7900 blackbox in the car too. records HD 24/7 video, audio, G-forces, date, speed, time, location and more.
Would make for some good movies if I ever were to go fast. ; )

Anyway, the GPS in the Bel helps minimize the false alarms. I still get them, but no speeding ticket for the last 2.5 years.

PM me for into that should not be posted here.
    : ) again

Just happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Lights behind me came on out of nowhere (he must have been 2 cars behind me) and didn't need his radar to see how fast I was going.......Sorry about the blurry pic but my hands were probably shaking a bit by the thought of forking over a bunch of $$ to my attorney, attending traffic school, ect.

As I'm pulling over dropping F-bombs my wife stated that she was now going to finish painting her nails as this traffic stop would most likely take a while.

Cop took license/registration, ect......has a few questions about the car, comes back 2 minutes later and gives me A WARNING. Still can't believe my luck.......great/super cool cop.

Sorry to hijack the thread........but I'm really looking for a new/better detector as well.

Check the new Passport Max as it is more selective with K band and you should get fewer falses. I have two valentines. One in my 430 and another which I used to use in my '13 M5 but I switched that one to the Passport Max and took out the V1 due to unbearable falses making it useless
